Atomes Music is thrilled to present the new compilation Fingerprints of the Ancient, compiled by Kitsune, our very active Japanese DJ and producer living in Australia.
Fingerprints of the Ancient brings together artists from all over the world, including fellow travelers who have already signed EPs or tracks with Atomes, such as Ipotocaticac, Pluriverso, Depuratus, Le Malinard, Kitsune, and Kek Heh. We're delighted to be releasing tracks for the first time from Sensient Number Six, UgA-BooGa, Circus Freq, The Force Is Here, Vox Fabri, Yoshua E.m and Paranoiac. With this compilation, Kitsune gives us a glimpse into his musical universe, and takes Atomes Music down the darkest, most experimental paths of Darkpsy that the label has never trod.

Ancient fingerprints exude a visceral power that is able to connect us from a human level and to any beings far beyond any time or place. Today, fingerprints from the ancient world survive as forms of arts, music, spiritualities, cultures, plant medicines, and science. Ancient ancestors have lived life, learning from it, and preserving its lessons in various art forms such as painting, writing and even vocally through singing. These remnants of their memories are just as relevant today and provide us with clarity and the very depth of our existence. Our growth happens through the momentary discomfort of humbling ourselves and learning from another. Kitsune is Yoshi, originally from Fukuoka, Japan, who made the move to Australia in 2010. The word 'Kitsune' translates to 'fox' in Japanese, and in Japanese culture, spirits hold significant importance, with the kitsune, or fox spirit, being one of the most revered. 

Yoshi discovered the psychedelic trance scene in Japan in 2006, and he instantly fell in love with its music and community. He particularly connected with dark psytrance, which was incredibly popular in his hometown at the time.

In 2017, Yoshi launched his DJ career under the name Kitsune, focusing primarily on dark psy. In 2020, he began producing his own music, driven by a passion for creating deep storylines unique to each track. Kitsune's music offers a fresh perspective while maintaining an air of haunting familiarity. His primary sources of inspiration stem from the energy of nature, allowing his work to resonate with the raw essence of the natural world. It is in these serene environments that he finds his true artistic expression, where his music flows with depth and hypnotic allure, leaving a lasting impact on all who experience.
