as JENSON's shoulders were seized by some very built men.

grabbing a huge finger, attempting to peel it back.

Kari, clearly distressed,
JENSON reminded her of a worm as he squirmed beneath the security guard’s chest—
at least seven feet tall and as bald as a baby.
sunlight reflected off the name badge: Davie.
"M’lady, Mrs Peppercorn requests you dine with her this evening as her esteemed guest."
Kari almost choked on her breath.
"don’t trust it, Kari."

immediately, Davie's arms wrapped around JENSON's throat,
impossible to parry.
struggling to get out a word,
one arm flailing,
JENSON drowning in the grip of this early bird.
what more could Kari do
except nod politely like a shy turtle,
and turn away—
JENSON a shade of purple.

"no, Kari, stay—"
a feeble attempt at reversal,
ending up thrown like a curveball,
down the steep driveway...

nah, it ain't like that.
This is a shitty ride,
can't even fight back.
