“Coup de Foudre” is a French idiom referring to love at first sight. With 'Day Dream' they created a Detroit-inspired emotive house music hymn, depicting a dreamy feeling of "in-between realities".

CDF are the DJ/ producers Alex Coly and Chuck Black, an Amsterdam based French duo who share the same philosophy about music. Their style ranges from house and deep-house to electronic, African percussions and beats with a techno twist.

Alex Coly and Chuck Black individually started their musical journey in 2017 building up their act and technical skills following their encounter with the amazing, multi talented Amsterdam music scene. The two young men have since then kept on fanning their own flames throughout Europe and the United States all the while developing their joint brand, always aiming to give their audience a soulful and memorable moment.

This journey has been a huge exploration of self; discovering my limits, honestly looking at my faults/flaws, and then sharing it with loved ones, strangers, and more. I have truly come to love my craft. I struggled tremendously with comparing myself to many peers around me. The truth is, the internet made me feel like I'm not successful enough, I don't do enough, that I wasn't enough. In reality, I found that comparing myself to my peer that is touring, my peer that makes beautiful music videos, my peer that curates fashion in way that is engaging, or to my peer that has over 1k-10k views/followers/subscribers, is f*cking detrimental to my health. I had to realize that Cato is Cato, and Cato is on Cato's path, and Cato's path is not that of my peers. I am SO grateful to even be able to call those artists' my peers. I am grateful that I am able to create. I am grateful that those who touch my material, will find a gem of encouragement for them. I am grateful that I was able to push and complete a f*cking project as rigorous as this one. I am grateful for my wife for having the patience. I am grateful for my son's for keeping me on my toes. I am grateful for my sisters/brother/my mother for keeping in touch with me during this period. I am grateful for my bestfriend Paris, who exited the show to soon but added more fuel to my passion. I am grateful for Domo and Tyson for not giving up on yourselves. I am grateful for my co-workers...always lifting me up when I don't feel like myself.
