Well things they had a vibe for sure. On those dark nights in the late of summer. On those dark nights in the late of summer.

We lost ourselves out in the pine. Along the trails that weave their ways around the mines. Caught a glimpse of just what could have been. We ignored the signs and just went in. Smoke like ribbons pulled from the windows. As we cruised along the back roads. Just know something was really there. On those dark nights in the late of summer.

We would lay low. Hide away from the summer heat. Invincible. The things we don’t know. They are coming

Sitting on the front steps, staring watching traffic. The sun was in the back yard laying low for the evening.
But we had plans. And we were waiting for the right moment to strike. Weaving through the streets on our pedal bikes. Took the alleys to stay well out of sight. As we made our way neath the auburn lights and the maple trees.

Old water towers in the distance. Our shadows shift in fading daylight. 
Now we walk handle bars in hands along the creeks of swaying street signs. And we had spoke of the things that truly mattered and the things that don’t. Said we’d stay this way forever but we know that we won’t. Took a moment to wait but we had to let go. So we head back home neath the auburn lights and the maple trees
