A new year and a new musical collaboration...
 
For a long time now I've relished the moment in a party where the tempo slows to something that feels more innate, more in line with our own pulse, containing more space for movement and defined by intricate intelligent grooves. This type of music feels great to move the body to, and allows for a depth of expression that can be hard to match with higher tempos. Each track has a unique and mysterious tale to tell. 

A collaboration formed around this style of sound in 2022 and a new musical project was born. This new year my sonic compadre Stuart Pinner (DJ Voyage) and I shared the stage at Cosmic Convergence Festival for the first Dawn of 2023. Here is our set from that morning, I hope you enjoy.

David Christian has lived behind the decks for over a decade and has always had an everlasting love in sharing his passion for music. Originally coming from a background in trance and progressive while performing under his birth name Giles Bjerke within the scene in Vancouver, he has slowly shifted his ears towards a deeper rooted vibe in groove and rhythm while re-birthing an old concept and alias as David Christian - (his two middle names).
His mix series 'The Moment' reflects this change, and aims to connect melody and emotion through deep house, techno, and progressive.

His alter alias as 'Mils' reflects his path in drum & bass - liquid, tech, and whatever else makes his heart thump.
'The Space Between' mix series blurs the margins between these genres with groove, vibe, and emotion.
