Taking the release-portfolio into account, Rampa built over the last years on Keinemusik, him adding a new EP to the labels catalogue is worth every credit of trust. And this very “Trust” EP is living up to that not only by its name. It certainly offers value for money, considering KM-releases have mostly been two-trackers. There are four cuts on this one, each one following a different approach, making it also a hella versatile record.

It opens with the titeltrack, the floor-mantra within this bunch. A ruminant groove, backed by lifting and dropping notes, launching a catchy synth-figure and adding up synth-layers until all tension drops into a break that’s as curative as a talk therapy. A track that, out of unshakable serenity, unleashes an irresistible energy.

The following “Entropie” comes closest to what could be considered a Rampa classic. Percussive loops that are scooped up with even more banging and clanking – check. Lurking synthbass in the back – check. Vocalsamples with tribal descent – double check. Generally, you’ll find a whole lot of folklore in this rhythm rich affair, that continuously is jazzing up to highest ecstasy levels.

The flipside opens with “Defiled”, led by a prominent synthline, that’s going through various filter highs and lows and gets bludgeoned by some vigorously swung claps. Raw, naked floor material lacking any flourish, that seems to even fire up a jackhammer during the break.

“Headsup” is concluding this set. Triggering the smell of watered sidewalks, lit-up only by flickering neon light, immersed in the depths of delay, this latenight-story finds some redemption and warmth within the glow of its soulful vocal samples.

BiographyAmongst Denied is a 6 piece Experimental Metal band from Pune. The band's music is formulated upon progressive time signatures, melodic grooves and complex guitar and ambient layers. The band's sound and music structure can be very closely associated with that of the djent nature while still maintaining a unique sound and feel of the band. AD, short for Amongst Denied, was formed in the middle of 2010 in Pune, India.The band started out being a humble groove oriented 5 piece band in 2010, taking up stage and going live for the first time in January 2011. Over the next couple of years and quite a few liveshows later, the band started exploring and experimenting with the time signatures and melodic progressions thus leading to the incorporation of a 6th member on clean vocals in 2013.The band makes use of 8 string guitars and samples to create and exciting at-mosh-phere and are known for their live performances, captivating attendees and making them groove time and time again.Power packed live performances and captivating music ensures the crowd grooves harder and faster.

 

Beginnings - Amongst Denied was formed in Mid 2010 by Aazi and Vineet. Jinu joined the band next, after rough sessions at jam holes, followed by Ankit and Sagar finally settling in the band. The band started off as a groove oriented group drawing major inspirations from Groove/metalcore genres. After several line up changes, the band came up with their first single in May 2011. The single was ' Sanctuary Defiled'. The song has been a favourite of not only the band members but also the crowd.

The band released another single 'Pandora's End' few months post release of Sanctuary Defiled.

Soon after the band started experimenting with melodies and time signatures and got to work on writing material that not only encases the old Amongst Denied but is a step up in their musical creativity.


The band has finished tracking for their debut full length studio album comprising of 9 new songs. The production has been underway since August 2013 and is being produced by Adhiraj Singh (from Noiseware/Refractor Studios).

 

The band is looking at a Mid 2015 release.

From 2009 on, Rampa made a name of himself through Keinemusik, his own little d.i.y.-cosmos, being not only label, but also crew of likeminded DJs, producers and friends. The teamwork within this realm has seen a serious number of productions and collaborations, particularly with fellow producer &ME, not to forget the rest of the bunch, Adam Port, Reznik and Monja. 

Besides, he’s got an array of other collaborations and releases under his belt, put out on imprints like Circoloco, Innervisions, Diynamic, Afterlife, Cocoon, Ninja Tunes / Counter Records, Strictly Rhythm, Kompakt, 2020 Vision, Freerange, Bpitch Control, Defected or Crosstown Rebels.

The events of the last few years have seen Rampa focussing more and more on the production side of things, be it studio time or the inauguration of the TEILE project – his own company to produce and distribute analogue effects, custom built for DJ-purposes. Certainly also an outlet for a slight nerdism, that includes not only studio gear, but instruments in general. When it comes to DJing itself, he is going for a less is more approach these days, choosing bookings and playing more consciously.
