Free Samples takes a deep dive into the history of hip hop by focusing on the samples that make up some of the genre’s most iconic albums. Select songs from each album are dissected in detail. Each original sample is played followed by an explanation of how it fits into the song we are examining. After each sample in the song of focus is broken down, the song is played in full. 

"Deltron 3030" is the debut record from the group Deltron 3030, which consists of Del the Funky Homosapien (MC), Dan the Automator (Producer), and Kid Koala (DJ). This record is a dystopian concept album which sees the protagonist, Deltron Zero, battle intergalactic forces of evil in a destitue landscape. Production on this album is cinematic, futuristic, and abstract featuring several unconventional samples. This album is a staple in the early 2000s underground and lauded for its creativity in both beats and lyrics.
