Asmus Odsat (he/him) is a DJ/Producer from Copenhagen. Asmus has hosted many music- and other cultural events in his hometown as a part of the now defunct BULK collective. They brought acts such as Rrose, Oni Ayhun, and Dasha Rush to the city, while also trying to create a space for local talent to break through. Asmus has also been part of the Malmö-based Ritual collective and label, throwing no-nonsense techno parties that garnered a unique, extremely floor-focused crowd. He currently holds a residency at the INKONST Studio, producing breakbeat and electro-flavoured music focused on the dance floor. He released his first EP on the Icelandic FALK Records, and has been performing with Reykjavik locals, building musical bridges across the Nordics. Apart from FALK, Asmus has released music on Fever AM, Bispebjerg Records, Intercourse, Of Paradise, and Dusk & Haze.

The KutiMangoes change their name to Sunbörn

Their name may give associations to something other than the six Danish men who make up the band The Kuti Mangoes. They are now taking the consequences of that and changing their name in a new push to conquer the world music scene - all over the world - for real.

"Dancing In The Dusk" is the 1st single from the upcoming album.

Dusk marks the transition from day to night. For this song we want to celebrate the excitement of change and development. The song represents a big change for the band in being the first Sunbörn track to be released and musically we want to linger on the magical feeling before the night sets in. There's a hint of the contemplation and melancholy of leaving something behind but also the uplifting anticipation of something new about to happen. For this song we have challenged ourselves by exploring new colours in instrumentation, arrangement and production with lots of flutes, a larger orchestral sound, driving trombones, broken saxophone and a trancy beat that gives a subdued tinge of club music. In terms of inspiration the song borrows from electronic music, legendary jazz composer Gil Evans, tribal beats and Bon Iver's production that melds acoustic and electronic sounds.

"Mankind?" is the 2nd single from the upcoming album.

Mankind? is a powerful and energetic instrumental song full of deep horns and wild grooves. The song captures the duality of human nature, with its ability to be both kind and gentle, but also destructive and violent. The intense horns and driving beats represent the chaos and intensity of human behavior, while the underlying groove showcases our capacity for unity and harmony. The song is a reminder of the incredible power of humanity, for better or for worse and its title signifies questioning what mankind really is as well as what we are doing to each other and the planet. On this track we feature 2 fantastic artists that we’ve been wanting to work with for a long time: Ida Nielsen (DK) lays the foundation with a delicately funky bass part and BIGYUKI (JP) soars with a rousing and potent keyboard solo. Masayuki Hirano - better known as BIGYUKI - is a virtuoso keyboard player based in New York City who besides releases in his own name is a highly sought-after collaborator by Kamasi Washington, A Tribe Called Quest & Lauryn Hill among others. He says: “ It was a fun challenge finding a good balance between spontaneous playfulness and constructing the story that fits the mood of this song. Hope I did justice to this dope song!!!”. Nielsen, who after 6 years as part of Prince’s New Power Generation now is a solo artist in her own right, says: "Mankind? is a fantastically playful track that I fell in love with straight away! There are so many fun rhythmical layers to explore combined with some chord changes that really talk to me. So I’m very happy for the opportunity to play along.”
