To, co działa w jednej kulturze, branży czy grupie społecznej, nie musi automatycznie sprawdzać się w innej. O różnicach w odbiorze danego projektu decydują tradycje, wzorce kulturowe i tak oczywiste czynniki jak: wiek, styl życia czy zdolności percepcyjne poszczególnych osób. Dlatego osiągnięcie uniwersalnych efektów w designie jest ogromnym wyzwaniem. Projektant musi brać pod uwagę zróżnicowane potrzeby odbiorców (także tych z niepełnosprawnościami), balansując na cienkiej granicy między personalizacją produktu/usługi, a jego szeroką funkcjonalnością.

Gerhard Kühne ist ein Designer und Problemlöser, der in Hamburg lebt und arbeitet. Seit Jahren widmet er sich der Entwicklung digitaler Lösungen und Produkte, die den Bedürfnissen und Geschichten der Menschen gerecht werden. Durch seine stetige Neugier und sein Engagement für nutzerzentrierte Produktentwicklung, hat er sich einen Namen in der Design- und Tech-Welt gemacht.

Kühne hat in verschiedenen Agenturen, Startups und eigenen Unternehmungen wertvolle Erfahrungen gesammelt, bevor er vor über zehn Jahren zu OTTO, einem führenden E-Commerce-Unternehmen, stieß. Dort arbeitet er seitdem als Creative Lead für User Experience und ist maßgeblich für die Gestaltung von Apps verantwortlich.

In seiner Rolle als Design Producer und Design Thinking Coach hat er ein tiefes Verständnis für die Bedeutung der Problembeobachtung entwickelt. Kühne betont, wie wichtig es ist, ein gemeinsames Problemverständnis zu schaffen, bevor man sich auf Lösungsansätze stürzt – eine Philosophie, die er sowohl in großen Unternehmen als auch in kleineren Teams verfolgt.

Um diese Herangehensweise noch zugänglicher zu machen, hat Kühne dieses Workbook entwickelt, das den Designprozess vereinfacht und anderen hilft, diese Methodik anzuwenden. 

Darüber hinaus engagiert er sich als Host des Podcast-Projekts Hoololio, das er Anfang 2023 zusammen mit Zamina Ahmad ins Leben rief. Der Podcast hat das Ziel, Menschen und Organisationen sichtbar zu machen, die durch ihre Arbeit, Probleme unserer Gesselschaft lösen.
