Tala Tape is a new beat tape by hip-hop producer El Pres Beats.

Tala, (Sanskrit: “clap”) in the music of India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, is a metric cycle with a specific number of beats—from 3 to 128—that recur in the same pattern throughout a musical performance. (source: Encyclopædia Britannica)

At the end of 2019 El Pres Beats made a 4 week roundtrip through India, where he was inspired by the country and its music and started making a selection of beats by sampling old Indian records. Tala Tape is the end result of this. Sole collaborator on this project is Dutch bass music producer Gumnaam, who co-produced the track Kranti.
