Severed Member is a two-man writing team founded by drummer, John F. Rivera, and multi-instrumentalist/vocalist, Steve Purcell, in August of 2020.

Moving powerful melodic Hard Rock with expressive vocals and tight harmonies, which paint an evolving soundscape that drives home the emotions and with the story of the song. 

Themes lean towards personal inner struggles most listeners should relate to. which ends with something learned by the subject of the song.

As older dudes, born in the Information Stone Age, Severed Member is a having fun taking advantage of today's opportunities, marketing and all-around resources available to today's musician.

Purcell is a retired client/server network engineer in tune with today's technology and the marriage of computers and music production. Severed Member is therefore completely self-produced and marketed.

Severed Member music is currently available through all Digital Distribution Platforms. Free download where allowed, or the lowest available price option.
Rivera and Purcell feel it is more important to grow a listener base. Money is not a motivating factor.

The Severed Member 2-Person approach is efficient, highly productive, and the ulltimate in creativity.

Can Severed Member perform live?

Yes, If an offer is presented to perform live, Severed Member has musicians in the wings that know the material and are ready to complete the line-up. 

Severed Member will be tight and ready to perform live after just a couple of weeks of band rehearsal.
 
The writing process starts with a live multi-track recording of drums, guitar & lead vocals. 

Bass, backup vocals, etc., is added to the live recording to complete the song.

All Severed Member music is a combined effort of John F. Rivera and Steve Purcell. All lyrics written by Steve Purcell.
