Episode 27 are here! This week, we present Diskovich! Expect Italo Disco synths, rolling bass lines, and 4/4 drums. Add in some classic trance and bouncy beats, and you end up with Italo Body Music, a 90s House revival, and vocals about dancing your ass off. That pretty much sums up his retro-futuristic style. Combining classic sounds with new and niche elements, he aims to find the sweet spot between the familiar and the unexpected.

As a member of the local Malmö collective Radio Brage at Lilla Stan Culture Association, he’s passionate about creating a welcoming and inclusive space for both new and experienced DJs.

Interview with Diskovich:

Q: What made you start DJing?
A: I was really bored during the pandemic and tried finding things to do to occupy myself. I was watching a lot of DJ sets on HÖR Berlin and Lot Radio. I got myself a controller and played in my bedroom for a year or so. Eventually, I found Radio Brage and joined them. It's way more fun to play and learn with other like-minded people.

Q: Describe your style in three words.
A: Nostalgic, energetic, and diverse.

Q: Your best set in 2023/2024?
A: I had a really good gig at Plan B a couple of months ago. It's an amazing feeling when you see people enjoying themselves to the music you play and love.

Q: Your favorite track right now?
A: "Dance Portal" by Pablo Bozzi.

Q: A track you never get tired of?
A: "Movin' n Shakin'" by Gaskin. It's one of my favorites, and I play it all the time. You can hear it in the mix around 37:10.

Q: Where can one find the best falafel in Malmö?
A: Värnhems Falafel.

Q: A Malmö DJ you want to highlight?
A: Sore Point. He produces nice tracks and remixes, and he’s a great DJ. He really helped me out when I got started.https://soundcloud.com/sore_point

Mile Diskovic is a passionate producer, DJ and sound engineer from Zurich, Switzerland.

Mile’s music is deeply rooted in the genres of Techno, Disco, Indie Dance, Funk, Pop, Deep House, Minimal Techno and experimental sounds of all kinds, which he enriches with his unique style that he calls “echo groove”.

Mile's sound is characterized by a playful lightness and a pinch of humor that gets every dance floor moving and puts a smile on the dancers’ faces.

Malmö Techno Tales: 

Malmö Techno Tales is an initiative to recognize and celebrate Malmö's underground scene. Here on SC, you will find mixes from veterans to newcomers in the scene. The primary focus will be on local DJs.

Bad Balance: 

Malmö-based Bad Balance, founder of the mixcast series and club concept Malmö Techno Tales and one of the co-founders of the collective Kenopsia, began his DJ journey in 2020. It all started when he and a few friends took the leap to organize open-air events on the outskirts of Malmö. Since then, he has become a household name in his hometown and has had the opportunity to play at some of the most renowned clubs in Copenhagen.

He usually gravitates towards a mix of hypnotic and groovy techno sounds, with a penchant for blippy sounds, rhythmic beats, and round kicks.
