The HEAT are excerpts from my legendary Aural Indiscretions broadcasts from March 2020 - March 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic. These live streaming broadcasts were unscripted and often lasted up to 12 hours long. The long mix format allowed me to explore a variety of styles, moods, and genres of house, techno, and electronic music. Above all, the broadcasts allowed myself and others to keep in touch or provide a momentary reprieve from the madness of the world. If you were along for the ride you may have listened into the wee hours of the morning, or perhaps listened to them later via the mixlr showreel or gdrive download. Aural Indiscretions is currently on hiatus as I have an infant daughter now and am in the newborn vortex giving her and my wife my complete attention & love.  
 A 10-12 hour mix can be a lot to digest for most people, so I have decided to break it up into heaty chunks for people to listen to. My general criteria is looking for thoughtful segments 1-3 hours long where I feel I was communicating through the music appropriately, had good flow, remember having fun, or was crushing it. The broadcasts also included the occasional live improvisation using my sampler, synthesizers, & drum machine. The comfort of home spurred me to push my boundaries, experiment, and be silly in ways I wouldn’t be at most live gigs out in the world.  I hope enjoy The HEAT!

NXZN, the guitarist:
I started playing guitar in 2009 simply because my mother would rather buy me a guitar than buy me a drum set because "drum sets make noise" and I sold her on the idea because there were headphones in the starter kit ...not that I ever used them.

I would admit that I absolutely sucked way, way, way back when I first started because I didn't take any actual guitar lessons and, to this day, I still kinda haven't. I got to where I am by experimenting, watching YouTube videos and reading tabs whenever I wanted to learn.

NXZN, the drummer:
I never really learned how to play the drums either. I'm more of a digital drummer. I have mastered the art of playing the drums on my computer or my phone. If you call what I'm doing playing the drums, I taught myself. It actually started on Manik's keyboard back in 2008. He introduced me to all types of terms that I didn't know about and I think he thought I knew but I was clueless. I lost the beat a lot but I picked it up eventually. When I would hit a drum set, my experience as a digital drummer translated well to the actual set.
