In our concerted effort to bring you new music and new artists from across the Bassline House & UK Garage spectrum we believe we have stumbled upon a fantastic talent, based out of the North of England.

This wonderboy known to many as Mango hails from the North Eastern UK town of Scarborough. Known for its Castle and as one of the UK’s first sea-side beach resorts. It now homes this up and coming UK act who is causing a huge amount of shock and awe, across rave land.

After recently being picked up by Deeprot Mango (or Jake to his friends and family) is currently on a tear with his music and we are absolutely delighted to debut him on the label to kick off our huge
spring/Summer release schedule 

1/ Mango - “Shoot Your Shot”

We kick start the release with a hugely popular track on dub at the moment, Mango offers up some swirling basses and echos building up to a quite rare to hear, male vocal bringing in the main drop.

More whistles and banging bass ensues from the one named Mango, Who has certainly established his sound even so early on in his career.

2/ Mango- “Into Your Arms”

Closing out the release of another one strictly for the dancefloors.
We start off uplifting you with a female vocal on this and a quick drop into her evanescence style choire-sque style rhythm.

But before long it is business as usual. This time dropping in some classic speed garage “wombs” for good measure and a beautiful breakdown to put your hands in the air too.

Our second track of the release takes us back to Sam’s roots with a very short intro lead by the one and only Flavor Flav, that drops us right into a classic but grimey Speed Garage bassline of the classic variety.

Lots more vocal samples lay throughout the track and some finely placed spin back effects to bring the sound right back to the late 90s sound but with a unique Sam Bassline twist.

We finish off this Mammoth EP and Speed Garage tribute with classic organs and vocals everyone will love Vocals lead into a huge rise that crescendos into the perfect drop and classic organs echoing through the track, leading us right into the main section of the track with a perfect female vocalist that leads

This weekend, August 2nd - 4th, 2024, is Caribana Weekend here in Toronto which is a celebration of Caribbean Culture. I wanted to express the fusion of cultures ive experienced within my life.

A little about me…
Born in 1989 in Portsmouth, I found drum and bass in the late 90’s and picked up my first budget vinyl decks (numark) in the early 2000’s. Unlike most, I wasn’t driven by the dream of playing live in front of thousands of people. Part of that comes down to my weakness for chasing perfection. For me, mixing was a private hobby that I was very passionate about and Drum and Bass spoke to me like no other music. I mixed privately or for friends for many years under another DJ name, and around 2007 I began to follow the trend of transitioning into digital.

Once I moved over to digital (virtual dj at the time) I wanted to start pushing myself onto 3 & 4 deck mixes. Unfortunately finances were still an issue so I had to make the best of what I had. I set up 4 computers (1 computer for each deck due to low grade hardware), 2 mixers linked together and 2 sets of headphones. I reprogrammed keyboards to act as the pitch and bends on each computer. I mixed like this for quite a few years until around 2014, juggling headphones and mixers to create 4 deck mixes. It was overly complicated but it did however fast track my skills in multitasking. Unfortunately around 2014 life took over, work, kids etc and I stepped away from my beloved hobby (although I never stopped listening to drum and bass religiously)

Around 10 years passed before I decided to come back to it. Still on a budget, I picked up the Traktor Kontrol S4 and a copy of Traktor, and that’s where I am today.

Now under a new DJ name with all new social accounts, I’m started from the ground up but with a lot of experience behind me. The name Renaissance is a French name for rebirth, and as my surname is technically French it felt fitting for my new venture.

In terms of my mixing style, I’m known for mixing a huge variety of dnb in my mixes. I don’t like to be confined to sub genres or time periods, so I will find a way to cover the whole of drum and bass in my mixes.

R U SRS? Was founded as an outlet to release Bassline House, Garage, House and all other types of music below 150bpm. Its parent Label Dirtbox Recordings founded earlier this year focuses more so on Drum n bass leaving this outlet to have its own release schedule and give its artists an outlet for other genres of music and to be a lot more creative.
