Lina had just come back from Nashville and started tuning her Dobro a little differently. Not wanting to be left behind, I tuned the low E string down to a D — and from there, the song began to slowly unfold, piece by piece.
It turned into something airy and English-speaking. The lyrics became an associative collage of memories, harmonies, and impressions. In the end, it was a group of wonderful musicians in the studio who helped put the pieces together into this recording.
