Nostalgia is a drug - and a fucking potent one at that.  Why are all of my favorite songs and tracks 20-30 years old?  Why do the new sounds not connect with me?

Because I have nostalgia for a life and youth that isn't mine anymore.  Maybe you do too.

Tracks used to be longer, have more work put into the intros and build ups...  The tools were limiting but that was their strength.  Producers didn't have a computer with millions of sounds and DAWS and plugins- they had to make do or innovate.
