The One Next Door started as an old, unfinished idea I stumbled across years later. When I fleshed it out, it turned into one of my most well-received songs. It carries that throwback energy—like something our parents might have danced to in the summertime. With big vocal harmonies, surf-rock vibes, and playful tropical instrumentation (Ukulele, log drums, bongos, xylophone), it’s a lighthearted, feel-good track about noticing the love that’s been right beside you all along. It’s my little nod to the Beach Boys and the kind of upbeat summer jams that never really go out of style.

I don’t write songs in the traditional sense. I prioritize sound and theme over grammar or logical narrative. I often look between the moments we usually skip — the pauses, the loops, the unfinished thoughts.
