The third single from London trip hop/dream pop duo Colour of Heartache. Although “Not Yours” is a heartbreaking song about coercive control and abuse at the hands of someone who claims to love you, its underlying message is one of strength. At its core it’s about fighting for autonomy, reclaiming the power to walk away, and learning to breathe easier on your own.

Two voices once moved in perfect clarity, like a shared signal cutting clean through the dark—effortless, understood, whole. 

Then, something shifts, almost imperceptibly at first, until the connection splits  into pieces, and what was once familiar becomes different.

We are Colour of Heartache, a trip hop/dream pop duo with echoes of Portishead, Slowdive and the XX. We got together in London last year and have been recording ever since. 

We have released the singles How Do I and Leave It All Behind on all streaming platforms which have been played on various online radio stations including Amazing Radio and have been added to multiple YouTube and Spotify playlists specialising in trip hop, shoegaze and electronica. 

We are now playing our first gigs (The Castle and The Star in London, Ramsgate Music Hall, with Nick & June) in the run up to our album release later in the year.

SINCERE IMPOSTER is a small collection of artists exploring a curious mixture of New Wave, Dance, EDM, Folk Rock, Metal, Art Pop, Electro, Dreamwave, and Experimental World Pop. Collectively, this is known as QUIRKPOP — music that pushes the creative limits of traditional pop.

Expect an unpredictable journey through sound, emotion, and humor, where genres collide and pop bends in strange new ways. Each song is conceived, composed, and performed with total sincerity, whether it’s built from voices, instruments, software, or hybrid experimentation. The focus is on the music itself: if it resonates, it resonates. No explanation required.

SINCERE IMPOSTER is curated by two musicians, both living within the same body, sharing a singular existence. They identify as Danielle & Dave. They are both psychologically and musically confused, yet extremely and unapologetically sincere.

Influences range from Weird Al and Nathan Fielder to David Lynch, Rosalia, Monatik, Atarashii Gakko!, Rammstein, T-Pain, and T-Swift. 

Danielle & Dave’s favorite inventions include the vacuum and the peach pitter. Their father is simply known as Vessel… who may be an entity or a god.
