The Strangeness of Kinders is the personal music project of Jesse Vinyl Jr. (aka A. Caleb Jerome). Vinyl was previously a singer, songwriter, and rhythm guitarist for performing bands Petrichor, Do Me Eyes, and One Car Garage, as well as several other minor indie rock projects. 

Vinyl is heavily influenced by the Garage Rock/Post-Punk/Indie revival of the early 2000s, the Grunge and Britpop movements of the 90s, and the classic Punk, Goth, and Dreampop/Shoegaze movements of the 70s and 80s. 

Vinyl's influences are wide and varied, but some of the strongest include Oasis, Nirvana, Silversun Pickups, The Cure, Third Eye Blind, Slowdive, Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, Blur, Franz Ferdinand, Garbage, The Strokes, My Bloody Valentine, The Offspring, and Beach House.

Vinyl grew up in Spokane, WA, and Woods Cross, UT. In addition to his musical pursuits, Vinyl has a Bachelor's in Digital Animation and Game Development. His other hobbies include drawing, writing, and playing Metroidvania video games.

Vinyl lives in Ogden, UT with his wife and son.
