Happy Drone Day 2024 to those who celebrate.

I recorded this using an OP-1 field while staying at a farm house in the Adelaide Hills. All production, mixing, and mastering was done on the OP-1 field. Volume normalisation, trimming, and fades were done using audio editing software prior to uploading.

The four layers are:

1. Bass made with the stock "Metal Mat" sample through the excellent Terminal effect.
2. Pad made with the String engine and Phone effect.
3. Interesting sounding radio noise recorded from the built-in receiver.
4. A field recording made outside the house with the OP-1 field built-in mic. It was cold and dark, and there was very little natural sound. I mostly picked up a low hum of road noise from a distant highway. There was an outdoor light on a sensitive motion detector, set to turn off after about ten seconds of stillness. The lights made a loud click when they turned on and off. I decided to play with this by sitting still until they clicked off, and then waving my arms to turn them on again.

The parts were recorded onto the Porta 4-Track tape mode. Then, the mix is run through the Mother reverb and master Drive to bring out the noise.

I enabled downloads and a very permissive Creative Commons license, so feel free to incorporate this into your own creations. I'd love to hear the results.
