ギターを始めた10代の頃はアメリカのハードロックとかヘビーメタルが好きでした。もちろんコピーから始まりましたが、それから数年経って曲を作ることを始めた。たま～にだったと思います。しかし知識も技術も経験も少なくて、頭にあるイメージを表現することが出来ず、モヤモヤしていたことを覚えています。「やりたいことがあるのに、どうしていいのかわからない」というモヤモヤ。この何とも言えない...モヤモヤの感覚をよく覚えています。

何がきっかけだったかは分かりませんが、ふと、そういう記憶が蘇ってきた。そして「あの頃やってみたかったけど出来なかった曲を作ろう」と。もしかしたら「夢をかなえようとしている」のかもしれないと思った。綺麗に言いすぎだけど。笑。ある意味ノスタルジーなんです。穏やかな曲じゃないけども！ 今の自分が「オマエがやりたかったのってこういうやつじゃないか？」と問いかけて、過去の自分が「そうそう、こーゆーやつ！」と思えたら...いいなと。

ストラトタイプのギターを使っているのでシャープな音になりました。ハムバッカーとちょいと違う味わいかと。ノイズ対策ということで「Boss Noise Suppressor NS-1X」を使用。数か月前に入手しました。シングルピックアップでこのゲインの高さだとノイズが気になります。優秀な機材ですね、本当に。楽器とか機材を作っている人って本当に凄いなぁと...いつも思ってる。それを思うと「真面目にちゃんと遊ぼう」という気持ちになりますね。

チューニングは「ドロップD」。好きですね、このチューニング。弦の太さは「10-46」。太い弦を使わずにやっていたので６弦のテンションが緩いのですが、そのまま弾きました。笑。ドラムはLogicのソフトウェア。ドラムセットが３つ重なっています。「アナログ出し」ってやつをやってみました。
「DAW→IF→Mixer→StereoComp→PreAmp→Mixer→IF→DAW」そのあとプラグインエフェクトで軽く歪ませてみたり...。

前回の曲から連続して聴くと...「オマエの情緒はどうなってるんだ！」という感じですね。笑。作風を決めることを決めないようにしています。まぁ「そーゆー奴だ」ということにしてやってください。今の気持ちに素直に従ってギターや音楽に接していたいですね。

So this song is not really about my cat curling into a ball although I mention that. It's about being able to switch off from the world, from reality, the way that a cat does when they curl up into a ball. Pretty much. It's a look at life and how hard it is to make a living, do the things you want to do. Like a plead for things to just get better. Yeah, come on
