I wrote and recorded this song about the first experience I'd ever had with an older woman, I was 23 years old at the time and she was in her early 30's. 

When I look back it's always followed with bittersweet tears, I learnt so much about myself and she taught me so much in the brief time we spent together. I remember being so nervous the first time I met her, she was so liberated, so self assured and confident, with a bob cut, facial piercings and tribal makeup to match. We instantly connected and she brought me out of my shell at a time I was down, after I'd been hurt by my University sweetheart. Fast forward one night on our 6th or 7th date I played her an early demo of this song at her local dive bar, she loved the song and was impressed at how far I'd picked myself up and grew into myself compared to when we first met but with regret on her face she told me we couldn't see each other anymore. Being somewhat young and naïve at the time I was hurt, rightfully so not again I thought but what I failed to realise was she was never mine to begin with, our paths had crossed for a brief moment, great memories were shared but we were never meant to be, and that's ok.

Long story short be open to new experiences no matter how hard it can be, especially after getting hurt. I'd do it all over again if I had to.
