The sunnysun Jedi`s on a mission

Brødskive is excited to contribute to Queer Sauna Sessions with a chill mix of some of their favourite electronic music. The mix will include sweaty, moody and laidback samples of Dub, Ambient, and DnB. Tracks will be carefully selected to ensure an exciting and contemplative sauna journey. 

Brødskive aka Jens Martin Hartvedt Arvesen is a dancer, and has worked with many different art mediums, most notably Drag, Dance, and DJing. They started their Drag career in 2013 together with the others in Princessilicious. They have initiated and had a finger in many different concepts for the Queer and Drag community in Oslo. Current editions of collaborations for queer artistic infrastructure and accessibility of the arts include, but is not limited to, Karmaklubb*, Oslo Drag Festival, and QCC – Queer Community Club. They are also continuously expanding and researching knowledge about Drag through concepts like Draglaboratoriet and Oslo Drag Festival, and currently teaching Drag at OsloMet. They started DJing in the Oslo underground in 2020, and has worked both as a DJ and booker with QCC, Karmaklubb*, Det Gode Selskab, Oslo Drag Festival, Grünerløkka Alternatives, Technokjeller, SALT Art & Music, Grenland Pride, Posten Bring, DJ WhoreMore, Open Drag Stage, Goldie, Elsker, SLM Oslo, Oslo Pride, The Villa, and Pride Art. They are currently based together with queer DJ collective QCC. They oscillate between different music genres but have a solid foundation in alternative 80s disco sounds, hypnotic Techno, jungle/dnb, and dub, as well as music you can sing along with.
Jens Martin has a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Dance, a Master’s degree in Dance and practical-pedagogical education from Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO).

In an unfair world, you cannot afford to be the same all the time. You must be the morning sun for some and the cold shadow for others. You must be gentle when it strengthens power and tough when power requires fear. The main thing is not to allow yourself to freeze. Weakness is not the absence of strength. It is not the ability to change. My great-grandfather saw the great fall. Not because they lacked a sword, but because they refused to let go of the sword when it was time to speak. They continued to act according to yesterday's scenario when the scene had already changed. They wanted to remain true to themselves and were confused by those who remained true to life. Being flexible does not mean being unprincipled. It means being alive. And life, like power, loves those who can move faster than chaos.
