Hello everyone! It is another Wednesday, as another midweek bump hurtles your way in the form of our legendary podcast. The summer has definitely arrived and we have not one, or two, but THREE live summer sets to keep you in that unique festival mood.

We head  to the Helios VIP Stage from DSCNNCT Festival, where Il Modo have been granted special access to a DJ mix from one of the stage's curators. Please make some noise for Brian Gravel!

Brian Gravel is a Boston based DJ who's been behind the decks for over 20 years. He has a true passion for electronic music and his mixes span a variety of genres from house and tech house to progressive and even downtempo. 

Over the years he has held several residencies in the Boston area and has played many special and private gigs around the world including Ibiza, Aruba, and the prestigious Marquee Club in Las Vegas. In addition to these special gigs, Brian hosted his own summer boat party called “Whatever Floats The Boat”.  

In 2019 Brian was recognized as one of three winners in Traktor’s mix competition for Last Night on Earth, the label run by legendary UK DJ and Producer, Sasha.  With the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic in 2020, Brian refocused his DJing efforts into live streaming for the online radio show, UKG, where he had a weekly broadcast.

In 2021, Brian ran a pilot mix series called Second Shift which featured sets from underground DJs from around the world.  Most recently, Brian has become an integral part of the DSCNNCT Festival (Cambridgeshire, England) team where he has both DJ’d and helped produce their new Helios VIP Experience tent, where this live mix is recorded.

Brian’s journey with DJ’ing and electronic music is ever changing but always moving forward driven by the love and passion that he started with two decades ago.

Today we are delighted to present another LIVE DJ set from the newly curated Helios stage at DSCNNCT. Returning for her second exclusive set for us, please give it up for the brilliant.... Leah Marie!!

Leah Marie (Late Night Music) is an upcoming DJ/Producer from Melbourne, Australia, currently based in Berlin. Ever since her first foray behind the decks in 2019, she has become a key player in Australia’s Progressive House scene.

A Leah Marie DJ set combines progressive and melodic sounds, blended to encompass deep, organic, driving, hypnotic, emotive and often tribal/ethereal elements. She plays regularly around Melbourne’s most iconic venues for events & labels such as Mama Said, Capture Experience, The Morning After Agency and Intimet.

Leah has had the pleasure of supporting world class artists such as Emanual Satie (Cocoon), NOIYSE Project (SUDBEAT), Simon Doty (Anjunadeep), Matan Caspi (Outta Limits), Yotto (Odd One Out), Cassian (Afterlife), Andhim (Superfriends), DJ Ruby (onedotsixtwo), Enamour (Anjunadeep), Michael Mayer (Kompakt) and Prog-god, Guy J (Lost & Found). 

In 2022 she played at The Morning After Agency’s Interstellar Groove Festival and will be joining them at it again next year. Also in the diary for 2023, Leah will be playing at Where The Wild Things Are Festival, amongst other Australian and international events.

Leah recently released her first remix with fellow Aussie Prog-meister James Beetham on his Late Night Music Label, and has more releases incoming throughout the year. She has also recorded podcasts, with notable mixes including Wildwood Podcast Series, Progressiva and LIA Series amongst others.

Leah recently played at DSCNNCT Festival in the UK on July 1st this year alongside Denney, Sentre, Mia Aurora, Dowden and Aubrey Fry. And here is that set, exclusively playing only on Il Modo ... E N J O Y!

The Progcast - Episode 176 - Leah Marie (Live @ Helios Stage - DSCNNCT)

Well hello and welcome back! Good to see you here on the Il Modo progcast, where once again we do the digging and you do the listening, to exclusive DJ mixes all around Planet Prog! 

For the third week running we return to the Helios VIP Stage of DSCNNCT Festival, that ran on the 1st July this year. Continuing on from Brian Gravel's opener and Leah Marie's floor filler, we shine the spotlight on a DJ whose name will be on everyone's lips before too long. Fresh new talent  from the Anjuna crew, make some noise for Mia Aurora! 

Mia Aurora is a London-based Melodic House and Techno DJ/Producer. Drawing on influences from labels including Afterlife, Anjunadeep and Bedrock, Mia’s DJ sets range from melody driven house and electronica to darker, techno influenced releases.

Mia began her musical journey from an early age, becoming proficient in guitar and piano as well as songwriting and producing. In 2019, she graduated from the Abbey Road Institute following her studies in Music Production and Sound Engineering. 

During her time there, Mia engineered records with artists including Moses Boyd, Poppy Ajuda and Mogli as well as working alongside industry leading producers and engineers.

Quickly finding her sound in the electronic world, Mia has seen a rapid ascent up the DJ ranks, playing at iconic venues across London including Printworks, Fabric, Phonox and Egg London. She’s played events for London-based electronic label Anjunadeep, as well as supporting Yotto, Guy J, Adana Twins and Jody Wisternoff.

Kicking off 2022, Mia has taken her sound global, already playing DJ sets in Dubai and Tel Aviv, with more international shows to come later in the year including Albania, Ibiza and a headlining India tour too....

Added to the roster at the newly appointed Helios VIP Stage of the DSCNNCT Festival, Bedrock's Aubrey Fry returns to Il Modo once again. Big thanks to our ex-Realms resident for giving us permission to host this bonus, UNRELEASED episode, an hour of his live DJ mix. 

This completes over six hours of exclusively live festival action from our four top class artists ... Stage Director Brian Gravel, Melbourne maestro Leah Marie, Anjuna superstar Mia Aurora joining Aubrey on the day as part of a stacked line-up. 

With releases on Bedrock and currently on other major dance labels, Aubrey's DJ style reflects his eclectic musical tastes. In this exclusive set he takes in everything under the electronica umbrella, while always keeping one foot in the rave!!
