Jack ayant pu pénétrer dans le cœur de la forêt décida de partir à la recherche de réponses. Au bout de quelques heures de marche au travers de la végétation, il trouva un point d’eau où il s’arrêta pour s’y désaltérer. La nuit tombant, il jugea plus prudent d’y installer son bivouac afin de continuer sa route à l’aube. Après s’être nourri de quelques champignons qui traînaient par là, Jack s’endormit au bord de l’eau. 
Le lac uniquement perturbé par quelques rares vagues créées par le vent se mit à s’agiter, comme si une créature démoniaque allait en sortir. Mais au lieu de ça, une femme sorti de l’eau et s’approcha lentement de Jack afin de ne pas le réveiller. Elle lui murmura ces quelques mots à l’oreille : “Jack, tu as été envoyé ici par les dieux pour accomplir ton destin. Toutes les questions que tu te poses trouveront réponse un jour ou l’autre mais tu dois être patient. Je ne peux t’en dire plus mais tu dois continuer ta route vers l’ouest, c’est là que sera ta prochaine étape. Courage, saches que tu fais partie d’un plan et que tu ne seras jamais seul”. Au petit matin, Jack se réveilla en ayant l’étrange sensation d’avoir fait un rêve particulièrement lucide. Persuadé de l’importance de ce soi-disant rêve, il décida de reprendre sa route en direction de l’ouest.
