Time to start climbing. A trudging bass and plinky melody give a positive, optimistic beginning to your journey... but the distant moans and ghosty theme have you a bit worried... it's loopable in case this takes some time.

4 Climbing the Tower

Same as the previous track really, but with added tape effect for that extra feeling of disintegration and retro.

6 Forever Climbing the Tower

Congratulations! You made it to the top. Now prepare to DIE! 
The Lich's walk-on... creep-on... levitate-on song.
A sneaky bit of synthwave in this one with the Juno bass and slightly off-beat Jupiter melody (to make you feel a bit uncomfortable). And then a wobbly single synth tone for the impending doom. Almost loopable, but I didn't have the heart to cut the reverb at the end.

7 The Lich Awakens

Hero selection music. Loopable. Although a bit annoying more than once around. It's designed to be a bit optimistic and exciting, yet annoying enough for you to make a decision and get on with the game.

3 A Hero Enters the Tower

Well you died again. But at least some of your armour survived. And somebody must remember you to ring the bell. Or perhaps they heard the screams? A classically inspired synth strings and brass track - more details in the next one.

11 Nothing Left but Little Bits of Metal

A game that starts with an epitaph? Set's the mood doesn't it? Lots of distorted organ and guitar with spooky background noises. An eerie forlorn pipe organ attempts to come in with a tune in the second half. Loopable.

2 Hollow Epitaph

After trying to impress you with his analog synths, the Lich brings out the good old Grandfather Clock to put the creeps in you. As well as a few bangs of an out of tune bell and wooden staff in case that was not enough.

8 Only a Matter of Time

An interesting process making this, as the first time I've made music to order. A lot of "yes, good, but make it darker" from the game designers. So here it is. With extra DOOM!

A repeat of the last theme, but with more distortion as your feet get worn and your sandals start to chafe. The distant moans are less distant and slightly more guttural, keeping the ghosty company. There's a nasty 80s bass guitar twanging in the next room. Some fool gave them a Theremin too. Talk about cliché. It's also loopable.

5 Still Climbing the Tower

So you survived? No more shall the tyranny of the Lich instill fear in the... and all that. Well done anyway. You still can't play guitar very well. But at least the arpeggio is automated. A mix of modern and retro synth strings for the tension in the victor who feels compassion for the evil thusly slain. And a waily slightly overdriven guitar. Mike Oldfield would have nightmares.

13 Just a Flesh Wound

Well that didn't go well. You know that frozen hand sticking up out of the ice? That's you that is. Mainly wind and some spooky noodling on the synths. Loopable, for extra doom.

10 Dead Mans Hand

A variant of the previous track with a twist and more bang. But no clock.

Staffel 3 | GameKeeper | Folge 125 - Fellowship

Kraftkabel is the artist name of Philip I. Buckland. I am a musical scientist in a parallel universe living in a studio flat orbiting Jupiter. My keyboards are suspended in gravity nets, and my mixer is controlled by the power of the mind. My cosmic sequencing software masters through the power of emotion, and my keyboards are simultaneously both retro and new.
My music originates from the point of divergence of these universes - the mid-late 1980's, but is spliced by genre splicing interludes. I use a time machine and dimensional portal to get to work.
