but instead meant to pay tribute for the lasting gifts these musicians have provided.

A dimension is considered the minimum number of coordinates needed to locate an object in space. For at least two centuries, humanity has been searching for higher dimensions than the three we are familiar with on Earth. The fourth dimension is defined as a space containing coordinates beyond length, width, and depth.

The final track from new experimental music recorded on 7/9/24 
derived from the fifth jam session from

The title FUBEX is acronymic, representing the five tracks;

1. Finifugal (the quality or state of actively hating or prolonging something's end (typically of a story) 

2. Ulotrichous (having woolly or crisp hair)

3. Bumfuzzle (to confuse or fluster)

4. ERF (electrorheological fluid: a man-made liquid that thickens or solidifies when an electric current passes through it and returns to a liquid when the current ceases.)

5. Xertz ('to gulp something down quickly and/or in a greedy fashion’)

is the 9th album from Joel the Mole and David Nelson , known as Duo Treason.

This is the second track. It is lovingly dedicated to the memory of Dweezil (7/7/04-12/19/24), the wonderful cat who graced me with his whiles for 20 years.

Hello, friends. 

 Welcome back to our music chamber.
We have a new track for you. ‘Nocturnalis’.
It was improvised freely by David Nelson and I and 
recorded on Jan 21, 2025 in Mamaroneck NY.

  A week later my computer crashed and all this data was lost and eventually recovered (whew!-thanks to the glorious and gifted geeks of BestBuy’s Geek Squad) . There was a lot of nail-biting in February, and I completed the editing in early March. 

 Today’s release is timed to coincide with a commemoration of Bela Bartok’s 144th birthday. Ever since my music teacher Irwin Stahl introduced me to Bartok, this music has been commanding prime real estate in my ear.
The current track is not by Bartok, per se, but his influence is in my blood, having steeped myself in the study and adulation of his entire oeuvre since 1977. If you are not familiar with his works, here are a few timeless gems;

 So, here is the opening track, ‘Nocturnalis’ from Duo Treason’s 11th album, “Soon to be Titled”. You may or may not detect Bartok’s influence, it’s subtle. It lurks in the shadows.

Welcome, friends.
I am pleased to be introducing the opening track from 
Duo Treason 13: Frequently Unanswered Questions.

Presenting Joel and David’s lucky thirteenth production, recorded June 24th 2025 in Mamaroneck, NY, (birthplace of Marval Mystery Oil).
Joel played  a Yamaha Silent Classical guitar, and David played a Steinway Model O grand piano, as sometimes happens.

Cultivating ambiguity.
Music of the unforseen moment.
The tantalizing mystery of the deep and dark.
Just when you find out where it’s at, they move it!
Relax and embrace the freedom to wander.

For me, the 'indelible' moments are the ones I can’t fathom, 
but sense there must be some deeper meanings lurking, 
like hearing a beautiful, curious word in an 
unfamiliar language, or trying to parse the epic tale behind the  
labyrinthine trails left by a root beetle.

It’s GOTTA mean something! Right?
But let’s suspend understanding, and just bask in the not knowing.
Let wonder reign.

Joel the Mole is a NY based composer , film-maker, and artist. He makes music for his own selfish delights, but hopes you enjoy it too.
Joel is compelled to make music of frequent change, so if you like a steady groove, you may not be so happy here. He collaborates nicely, usually with friends like the amazing Carlos Vivanco (Like Wow, Decibel, Andromeda Crash),
mega-bassist Keith Macksoud (Present),
David Bond Engelhard on benevolent battery, 
double bassist John Convertino, and sometimes with fellow Westchester Conservatory alumnus Matt Lamborn on guitars. 
Joel plays guitars, piano, keyboards, the "arachnid bass", and other toys. The music is often radicalized during his editing process.
Some of the scores are 'performed' by software.
