The accompanying track of Social Labyrinth, Evening Commute was inspired by a drive home from work. It was still daylight when I was driving, so I got the idea to make a song that was relaxed, yet driving.

Nice to meet you. My name is Randy Derricott, an Autistic EDM DJ/producer & Pharmacy Tech based in Coral Springs, Florida (a suburb of Fort Lauderdale) by way of Richmond, Virginia.

Active since 2004, I mainly make & play Trance & Progressive House.  I also sometimes let my nerdy side show by playing what I call "Comicontronica" or EDM remixes/covers of songs from video games, anime & the like.

My adventures have had me perform at a number of venues throughout South Florida as well as some of the biggest conventions in the US, among which include Anime Iwai, Otakufest, MegaCon, Kirbiicon, Colossalcon Ohio & Ichibancon in North Carolina.

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, I put making music on the backburner to focus on my DJing adventures, both on Twitch and, once things eased, live shows.  I've recently decided to jump back into the music making pool again.  While I do have a Soundcloud with music I made under a past alias, I've decided to make a brand new Soundcloud, since I'll be using my real name going forward.

Currently, he writes about stewardship of the Earth, children and family, social justice themes and music for community events.  He utilizes multi-media, electronic music, and traditional acoustic instruments.  He has composed music for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestras, other local orchestras in Ohio, music for theatre, video and chamber groups.  He has his own studio, Nautilus Compositions, where he produces much of his music utilizing virtual instruments that he performs on, records, mixes , produces and publishes. He often works with Walterhoope (https://walterhoope.com) a regional arts organization that produced his semi-operatic-dance work,”13th & Republic." He also composed the music for their production of Duncan Macmillian's "Lungs," a film trailer for their adaptation of William Shakespeare's "The MacBeths," music for their audio production of the "Velveteen Rabbit,” and music arranging and mixing for their science fiction serial podcast "Wellspring."  His  wife ,Nancy Bertaux, a political-ecological economist professor and writer, frequently works with him as a singer, project developer and organizer and music editor.
