I Used to play at small private parties, often in small clubs, cafe's or sometimes a remote barn. Often I was one of the last DJ's of the night, because my sound just kept getting harder and more intense. I Played other genres too, like house, but in sets like this one I could really let loose. I’d bring my record cases, push the music forward and just go for it. Nothing was too crazy for me.

It didn’t take long before I realized I could handle multiple styles, but if you gave me the freedom and no limits, you could expect some seriously heavy pushing.

This is a set I played at a private trance party where I was scheduled as the second-to-last DJ. The event was a pre-party for the beach event "Frequence" in 2002.

Kønzo Irish born, Liverpool based artist takes on Liverpool's infamous WAV Tunnels for Revolt Raves with a full force early hard style, hardstyle, reverse bass one hour set.

Time has definitely left its mark on this set. Not only does it ooze pure nostalgia, also the CD this mix comes from is slowly wearing down, it's decaying. Towards the end, you’ll notice the mix isn’t as crisp as it once was, but it’s still pretty nice to listen. Don’t let that stop you from enjoying it. Hard Trance and early Hardstyle collide here in the perfect mix.

Here’s another set straight out of the vault. You can clearly hear how the sound gets harder with every mix and how I started experimenting with different genres. This mix represents the very early days of hardstyle in its pure form.

Lose yourself in the raw, nostalgic hardstyle beats from that era. There’s a small file error halfway through the set, so I had to slightly shorten “James Brown Is Dead”, but as a listener, you’ll barely notice it.

ShadowPhaxx, born with a passion for hardstyle beats, embarked on a musical journey fueled by the dream of becoming a hardstyle DJ. Starting in 2004, he was chasing his dream and made some great achievements; From clinching victory in Q-Dance's "Q-Factor" in 2006 to gracing the stages of iconic national festivals like Defqon.1 and Dance Valley (as his groupact: Audio Psychos). His sonic voyage extended beyond borders, enchanting international audiences at renowned events such as Q-Base Festival in Germany and the sun-soaked vibes of Starbeach's Beachflirt in Greece. As life unfolded, he put his aspirations on hold to focus on building a complete and fulfilling family. Now, with his family by his side, ShadowPhaxx is determined to reignite the spark and chase his dream once again, blending the harmonies of family life with the pulsating rhythm of hardstyle music.

ShadowPhaxx dedicated himself to the art of music production, fervently working towards a new aspiration – to release his own music to the world.

Hi, I am (rookie!) DJ Franquillizer!

I decided to start deejaying late last year (November 2024), after being a daily base house music listener since the early 90’s and a spectator at various raves since 2001. 
To be playing my own favourite tracks with my own gear had always been an ambition but the right time just didn’t came. Until it came November last year and I bought a decent DJ-controller with proper audio gear. 
Without having any deejay experience nor knowledge of how a DJ controller worked or should be operated.  I’d always thought; four-quarter time music mixing can’t be that hard! I just knew I could do it and that I could teach myself some basic deejaying skills. 
After a few months of practicing it's all going pretty well if you ask me 😎

But please forgive me when my self taught mixing skills sound like shit! Don't expect my live recordings to be flawless. There's a lot of progress to be made and my skills are improving step by step. One step at a time! 
Just the fact that I now have the opportunity and equipment to mix, record, and share the music I love so much on this platform with friends and others who’re interested in hearing what DJ Franquillizer is all about, is beyond great! 🙏🏻


              • These are my Musical Memoirs •


The first (big) event I ever attended was Mystery Land  Festival back in 2001. 
A year later, an anniversary edition of Qlubtempo (1st of June 2002, Heineken Music Hall, Amsterdam) got me hooked on Hardstyle. It sounded like nothing else I had ever heard before and the Qlubtempo Hardstyle vibe was unparalleled. It was just perfect.

After Qlubtempo, hardstyle became a big part of my life. It shaped me as a person throughout the years. It contributed to my life in many ways; met my girlfriend at a party 20 years ago, had lots of social interaction at parties which brought me friends that I'm still lucky to have today, and I made memories that last forever.
I am so grateful that I have experienced it all and wouldn't have missed it for anything in the world.

My obsession with Hardstyle is more like an addiction really. I can very proudly say that I’m a Hardstyle junkie for life. What that means like is something I can only explain through the music. The universal language!
Every once in a while I'll present you an Early Hardstyle Classics liveset. Composed the Franquillizer way! 😎
