Music from the Firmament

Dan Solar (AKA Dan Clark), is an Auckland-based DJ/Producer and one of the early pioneers of underground dance music in New Zealand. Performing at clubs and festivals since 1994, Dan has held residencies at many iconic nightclubs, festivals and radio stations. From opening one of Aucklands first dance music record stores in the early 90’s, touring with top UK DJs and playing clubs in London, to holding down his radio show on George FM for over 8 years. Dan has built a reputation for delivering sophisticated, high-energy DJ sets that channel the deep legacy of dance music while pushing the boundaries of House, Disco, Afrobeat, and more. 

Dan currently runs the Upswing, a dance night showcasing some of New Zealand’s top DJ’s and musicians.
