The 'peaceful afterglow' of the memory begins to cool. 'Fading' is the sound of 'deconstruction'—the memory losing its sharpness and becoming a distant 'ghost.' Beatless and ethereal, the track is an echo of the album's climax. 'Worn' and 'distant' fragments of the Cello and Kalimba melodies appear, 'fading in and out' like a lost signal. The entire track is 'muffled' in a 'lo-fi' filter, as the warmth recedes and the 'celestial' vision 'fades' back into the dark.

Close to my heart is raising awareness of the chronically painful genetic connective tissue disorder HEDS (Hyper-Mobility Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) to encourage recognition and a deeper understanding of the condition; that no two people with HEDS are identical and live with different symptoms, types and experiences.
