"Coming of Christ," written by Kevin Johnson and produced by Divine Distortion, is a high-energy fusion of Christian rock and EDM, delivering a sonic experience that embodies faith, anticipation, and divine revelation.

From the outset, explosive synth waves crackle with anticipation, while distorted guitar strings weave through the air, setting the stage for an electrifying journey. As the verses unfold, the lyrics invite listeners to open their hearts, capturing the awe of Mary’s calling, angelic whispers, and the destined arrival in Bethlehem.

Then comes the first drop—a radiant explosion of heavy electric guitar riffs, distorted piano, humming FX, and stuttering beats. This moment mirrors the arrival of salvation, flooding the soundscape with hope and mercy.

The breakdown drapes the song in an ethereal hum, voices echoing like divine whispers before the second drop erupts with thunderous percussion and slicing laser synths, reflecting the reverence of kings, the fear of shepherds, and the praise of wise men.

As the pre-chorus and chorus surge forward, the song urges listeners to embrace the power of love sweeping across the night. By the bridge, heaven and earth collide—the boundless flame of Christ’s love ignites, illuminating even the darkest corners.

They say time heals. Cory Fletcher knew better. Time buried. It didn’t cradle the dead — it shoved them into the earth and walked on.

As the frontman of Divine Distortion, Cory didn’t just write about death — he lived in its constant hum. Every distorted drop, every shivering vocal line in Time was pulled from sleepless nights haunted by the hollow eyes of those who once stood beside him but now whispered nothing from the grave. Friends. Family. Unbelievers who scoffed while he clung to something greater. One by one, they vanished — swallowed by choice or chaos. And he remained, shovel in hand, heart on fire.

“It is time,” the voice said in the track’s opening. Not a warning — a verdict. Time didn’t wait for redemption. It stripped illusions, exposed darkness. It showed Cory that the lines between heaven and hell aren’t drawn in fire or light — they’re drawn in silence. In the moments after a heartbeat stops. In the face of someone who once said, “God isn’t real,” now clutched by the cold.

Each drop in Time isn’t a beat — it’s a burial. Each hook, a hymn torn from a nightmare. The synths don’t rise — they drag, like souls gasping through static. And as Cory channeled all that loss, rage, and faith into tearout, brutalstep, and distortion, Time became something more than a song. It became a spiritual reckoning.

Because when death is always at your side, you stop writing for the living. You start writing for the ones who might still be saved.

“Time” — A sonic dirge soaked in dread, it plunges listeners into a cinematic descent through death’s shadowed doorway. From its haunting intro — laced with twisted horror synths and the mutterings of a ghost-touched machine — the track unveils an atmosphere where decay isn't just felt, it’s heard.

As stuttering static, sub-bass growls, and fractured rhythms crawl under the skin, the track whispers of a soul’s slow unraveling: “There’s no light inside.” Each hook slashes like a memory carved in ash, while the drops erupt with seismic force — distorted, grumbling bass that doesn't just shake speakers but summons the soil itself.

Layered with disembodied choirs, reversed percussion, and glitch-scarred melodies, Time is more than a tearout and brutalstep anthem. It’s a requiem — one part prophecy, one part possession — echoing through the veil between life and afterlife.

Time

In the earliest sessions for Surrendered, Divine Distortion found themselves staring into the abyss—literally and spiritually. The track “Tic Tick The Hour Bleeds” was born during one of those long, late nights where silence feels too loud and time folds in on itself.

Cory sat in a dim room, looping a reversed music box tone on repeat, letting its warped lullaby pull memories from the shadows. They had just returned from a funeral—one that stirred not just grief, but the dread of finality. The ticking of the memorial clock, the whispered regrets from those left behind, the sacred unease—it haunted Cory. That’s where it started: “Tick... tick... the hour bleeds…”

Divine Distortion wanted to capture death not as a singular moment, but as a distorted continuum—where memories decay, fear multiplies, and the soul claws through static for meaning. The verse’s imagery of shadows twitching and cursed belief came straight from a dream Cory had: a hallway with no doors, only time bleeding through cracks in the wall.

But they refused to let it end in despair.

The second buildup—“Ashes hum, the grave replays / Hope is forged through disarray”—was where faith re-entered, not pristine and triumphant, but cracked, flickering, relentless. It was inspired by the idea that resurrection isn't a clean process—it’s violent, chaotic, and often unnoticed.

In the studio, they layered thunderous sub-bass with the sound of decaying pipe organs and mangled choral fragments. Every drop was a collapse and a climb. Every glitch was grief turned sacred.

The final line, “What you called the end begins / Spinning deep where silence spins,” was Cory’s answer to death’s taunt. Not an escape, but a reckoning—and maybe, just maybe, a doorway lit by divine distortion.

Each section builds like a prophecy unfolding—ripping through fear, doubt, and decay—until glory pierces the wreckage in a wave of holy power. From ash to awe, “Redeemed in Chaos” is not just a track—it’s a testimony in distortion. A scream of salvation wrapped in bass.

Founded in March 2025 by EDM producer Cory Fletcher and his wife, Alice Fletcher, Divine Distortion isn’t just another music project—it’s a sonic revolution that blends faith, raw emotion, and electrifying innovation into an unstoppable force.

With a mission to illuminate God’s love through a dynamic fusion of sound, Divine Distortion merges Christian rock’s anthemic spirit with the deep, pulsing energy of Dubstep, Riddim, Riddim Dubstep, Glitch Hop, and EDM. The result? A genre-breaking experience that speaks to the soul and rattles the foundations of musical convention.

A Fusion of Grit, Grace & Bass
At its core, Divine Distortion channels unshaken faith through earth-shaking bass drops, intricate riddim sequences, soaring rock melodies, and immersive electronic soundscapes.

Cory brings epic rock riffs and emotionally charged lyrics that roar with passion, reflecting personal struggles, triumphs, and deep spiritual connections.

Alice, with her unwavering faith and creative vision, weaves each track into a narrative of relationships, heartbreak, redemption, emotional depth, realism, and even perspectives on heaven and hell—capturing the raw essence of life’s challenges.

From high-energy dubstep breakdowns and gritty riddim grooves to soul-stirring rock ballads, Divine Distortion transforms music into an experience—one that moves hearts, ignites conversations, and shakes speakers to their core.

Breaking Boundaries, Raising Praise
This movement isn’t just about sound—it’s ministry through movement. Each track breathes life into faith-driven storytelling, powered by deep bass, ethereal synths, brutal drops, and raw rock intensity—creating songs that echo struggles, victories, and the undeniable presence of God.

Though not every song will be overtly Christian, each beat, lyric, and melody will reflect spirituality, human connection, emotion, relationship struggles, views on heaven and hell, and the complexities of life itself.
