In 1986, Ravi was approached by McVitie’s to record a jingle for one of their ad campaigns.

The brief was to take their existing catchy tune and elevate it. At the time, Ravi was working as a consultant for one of the leading jingle-writing companies: Jingles Jingles Jingles.

Ravi was an expert at elevating things. He spent most Saturdays riding the elevators in the Bull Ring, meticulously studying every sound they made. It was this conscientious attention to detail that earned him a strong reputation as a world-class elevator.

In fact, before he was Ravi Gunslinger, he was Ravi Elevator.

Ultimately, while McVitie’s were very pleased with the jingle, it had to be shelved due to creative differences. Ravi was adamant that pairing an orange-flavoured Club with tea in the final scene of the ad was not only distasteful, but deeply offensive.
