“Haunted Grooves” is Cat Scratch Records’ unapologetically weird Halloween masterpiece—equal parts banger and ghost story. Think Scooby-Doo with subwoofers.

The album drips with that late-night, fog-machine-in-the-garage energy where DJ Meowza, JK (Bass House Kitty), and Lo-Fi Kitty lock themselves in a studio that’s probably cursed and decide that’s fine. It blends haunted-house theatrics with real production muscle: bass lines that growl like something under your bed, synths that squeal like the door you swore you closed, and vocals that purr somewhere between flirty and possessed.

Each track tells a piece of the same ridiculous legend—cats chasing phantoms through abandoned clubs, spectral beats echoing down neon corridors, and the trio trying to finish their mix before the ghosts demand writing credits. “The Haunted Groove,” the title track, anchors it all: a darkly playful anthem that turns fear into rhythm and cobwebs into confetti.

It’s spooky, stylish, and too danceable for the afterlife.
