Here is my particular tribute to Alek Stark's label from Madrid: Fundamental Records / Electro Records. The quality of his editions was so great, and so much volume of music, which he offered us so frequently, that we had gotten used to it. 103 minutes in two sections. Sometimes the electro that comes from outer space, ethereal and ambient; and others against the mechanical and industrial, even apocalyptic.

En Madrid se lleva cocinando desde hace ya muchos años una escena súper interesante y de la que nadie habla. Muy metida en un estilo como principalmente es el electro pero sin desdeñar otros como pueden ser el idm, ambient, experimental.. Y con unos sellos que cuidan mucho el sonido y las ediciones.
Como, por ejemplo, Noise to meet you, Mystic and Quantum, Gladio.. además de otros anteriores como Semántica, Drivecom o Electro Records/ Fundamental Records. Y siempre Discos Esplendor Geométrico (Geometrik) como punta de lanza de lo que ocurre en Madrid. Nada que envidiar a lo que ocurre en otras partes de Europa.

80s Synthpop through to Chicago house, acid house, electro and techno.
No clippy-cloppy 'mnml' bobbins or business techno though.

Spent years being the obligatory 'Bedroom DJ' along with regular visits to the techno mecca 'The Orbit' and other nights, mainly Leeds based, such as 'Superconductor', 'Darkside' & 'Detatched', culminated with a DJ spot at Detatched in 2009 playing a mainly electro/italo-house set in the bar.
What followed then was a monthly resident spot playing techno when supporting artists in the main room or the chance to play electro, house and electro-pop in the bar at Detatched followed by Future-Past and the short-lived Secret Maze, supporting some of the cream of the techno scene including warm-up slots for Claude Young, James Ruskin, Marcel Fengler, Shed, Peter van Hoesen, Joey Beltram, Octave One, Truss/MPIA3, Detroit Techno Militia, Forward Strategy Group, 65d Mavericks, Subjected and Xhin amongst others. That was supplemented by appearing on the same bill as many other DJs and artists including Hardfloor, CJ Bolland, Woody McBride, Alan Oldham, Rolando, Derrick May, DJ Bone, Reeko, Exium, Sandwell District, Grovskopa, Ancient Methods, Inigo Kennedy, Bas Mooy, Damon Wild, Takaaki Itoh, Go Hiyama and Neil Landstrumm.
