Kalíptera es el resultado de un proceso de luthería experimental. Su nombre proviene de la kalimba, su pariente más cercana, y del sufijo griego “ptera” (alas). Combina un dispositivo material (dos cajas de resonancia, llaves metálicas, sensores y un giroscopio) con un dispositivo digital que genera síntesis y procesamiento de sonido. Su diseño se basa en las ideas de hibridez y multidominancia (Lewis), lo que permite una interacción no jerárquica en la que el instrumento responde con comportamientos semiautónomos a las acciones del intérprete, fusionando el sonido acústico y el electrónico.

Kalíptera is the result of an experimental lutherie process. Its name comes from the kalimba, its closest relative, and the Greek suffix "ptera" (wings). It combines a material device (two resonance boxes, metal keys, sensors, and a gyroscope) with a digital device that generates sound synthesis and processing. Its design is based on the ideas of hybridity and multidominance, enabling a non-hierarchical interaction where the instrument responds with semi-autonomous behaviors to the performer's actions, fusing acoustic and electronic sound.

Kalíptera-Improvisación Libre

The piece explores the boundary between acoustic sound and digital synthesis within an electroacoustic ambient framework. Generative pads, created using MAX/MSP (Cycling ’74), form the atmospheric foundation .
A slowly evolving sonic texture that defines the spatial depth of the composition. Layered over this landscape are percussive and concrete sounds, transformed through sound design processes such as filtering, granulation, which blur their original identity. The result is an immersive and organic soundscape where rhythm and ambience coexist in a delicate balance between abstraction and the tactile perception of sound.

Francie is a singer-songwriter from Tuscany, Italy. 

Her alternative pop music is strongly characterized by atmospheres with epic and dreamlike tones, mixing acoustic and electronic sounds. Since 2015 she has been composing and releasing her songs as an independent artist and in 2022 her last single "Casanova" was featured on Rock Italia Spotify Playlist. In 2024 she also participated in the Rock Contest Controradio.
