Ok so hear me out...This one's a little different. 

We've been working on 'Two Tokes' for a couple months now, it kind of took on a life of it's own through the creative process. With previous collaborations, B.Helix and myself have done large sections and meshed them together, with this one we wanted to use a different formula. Six sections, three from both of us, alternating through the course of the mix. Starting off with an abstract mesh of samples (TF?) from myself, melding into a delicious tune from The Cinematic Orchestra featuring Roots Manuva, which kind of sets the tone for the journey. Abstract 7 is more of a Cinematic Journey of Sound, utilizing various cultural sounds and styles. Both of us tried to meet each others styles halfway, delving into hip hop, lyrical flavors, driving middle eastern sounds, live, big room tracks, deep vocals, complex drums, deep and trippy breakdowns, ambient sounds with spoken word, original production from B. Helix and various tracks peppered with eclectic samples to add a bit of flavor. 

Our Magnus Opus as a duo thus far I believe.

We Didn't really have a plan going in as to the overall feel of the session but it began to take shape as the set evolved. 'Two Tokes' is an auditory trip, a journey of sound. Take the time to listen all the way through if you can and you'll see what we mean. Hope you enjoy the ride, we enjoyed the creative process.

Twenty five years ago I bought my turntables with my high school graduation money, and still got’em. Best therapists money could buy. Bass-Head or whatever that kills it. DnB, minimal dubby dubstep, glitch mid-tempo bass, bass funk, tech house, acid, electro, garage, and two step of course. I can trap yah, scratch and beat juggle too. Crunk is cool! Right now remix tracks into new. Blues with a ragga jungle ridden, hip hop acapella on DnB, heavy bass breaks with techno, flipping the stylus upside down and blowing your mind as I get it to play flipped and fucked with. I love to work while I play. Not perfect sometimes intentionally, but not always. It’s ok, I know how to operate all the controllers and CDJs too, and I enjoy mastering and sound design. I am novice with full start to finish production as I am learning to read script music because it’s badass when people record them playing the different instruments as building a track. Thats work. Ciao!

P.S. I need to record more vocals…accepting acappella artists. HMU

NMDA is a newly emerging multi-instrumentalist, multi genre producer from the United States. Originally a guitarist and saxophonist playing in bands with styles ranging from punk rock to jam band, he decided to pursue a solo musical journey. Over the years he was introduced to the electronic music scene and taught himself the art of electronic music production. Heavily influenced by the electronic and jam band scenes, his music ranges from chillhop, downtempo, ambient, & electrofunk. NMDA prides himself in creating his own style and focuses on integrating his emotions into his creative expression. Currently his music is featured on many mental health, study beat, chillhop, LoFi & downtempo playlists. NMDA is currently working on producing and releasing more chillhop and electrofunk style music with the intention of building a live show aspiring to present visions similar to FKJ, Gramatik, & Emancipator.
