A decade-long contribution to electronic music behind the decks at local parties in Bonn has seen the the DJ and producer team, Apropos, develop a deep understanding of what makes music work in the club environment. Since their 2016 debut, the duo has gone on to feature on such esteemed imprints as Heinz Music, Planet E Communications, and an April 2024 release on behemoth, Rekids. Full of fizzing techno energy, "Engaged" drives relentlessly forward courtesy of a thumping kick and offbeat percussion. A rippling arpeggiated motif makes an appearance before an acetylene-torch lead cuts through the mix with force and a stuttered cadence. A stripped back midpoint sees the dominant kick sit alongside atmospheric pads and gated vox FX before the main melodic sequence erupts back into life to powerful effect.
