Deepfake was commissioned by the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players for their 2020 season. The premiere performance was displaced by the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic and was finally premiered by the SFCMP on 3 April 2022. Santa BUŠS is a Latvian composer especially interested in detailed pre-compositional process and working with extra-musical ideas (found in other art forms, physiology, history, mythology, nature, architecture, medicine, sports, philosophy, etc.). 

Though her main focus and form of expression has been linked with instrumental music, lately she has discovered a deep interest in the voice and its possibilities, as well as being keen to expand her approach towards sound, composition and exploring different forms of collaboration. 
This also includes exploring territories between conventional and unconventional notation and performance techniques, as well as experimenting between the boundaries of music, theatre and opera, often focusing on the physical manipulation of instruments and the presence of musicians as a source of drama. 

She has studied both composition and musicology at the Latvian Academy of Music and Hamburg University of Music and Theatre. 

Her works have been performed throughout Europe, in North America and Asia.

David Chisholm is internationally recognized as a composer defined by diverse and hybrid collaboration and a curator and producer of vision and courage. He was composer in residence for Philip Adams’ BalletLab and an Associate Artist for Malthouse Theatre, before becoming the founder and director of the highly acclaimed Bendigo International Festival of Exploratory Music and its roster ensemble Argonaut. David has been an artist in residencee at HIAP in Helsinki, EMPAC in New York, Centre Intermondes in La Rochelle and Camargo Foundation in Cassis. He was the first Australian composer to be a featured guest of the Encuentro Internacional de Compositores in Santiago, Chile. David was an inaugural recipient of the Victorian Government’s Creator Grants. He holds a PhD from University of Melbourne and is currently Urumatua o te whare o ngā pukōrero pūoro|Head of the School of Music at Waipapa Taumata Rau|University of Auckland, Aotearoa|New Zealand.  A member of SOUNZ and the Australian Music Centre, David is published by Babel Scores, Paris.
