4am Mix

This month is the end of the 2nd year of the 100% WAX mix series! That makes this the 24th instalment. The series really just started life during lockdown as I missed picking out tunes, playing sets, and wanted some mixes for work full of my favourites, but as you can see the whole thing has sort of spiralled from there and now we're over 500 tunes deep and 24 months in! 
I've had a rule throughout the series that I'd not play the same track twice in a mix, to keep it different and to keep me digging through my old collection and hunting for new records each month, but, for this end of year special, I've basically dug out some of what I feel are the best records I've picked up, and played over the course of the series, like a little essential mix of the favourites.

Slightly more downtempo and deeper than a lot of the mixes I've done for the series, but recently got a few bits out the wantlist I'd been after for a while like the first two tracks in the mix from Metro Area / Ian Pooley. That being said, does end up in slightly more bouncy and rolling territory, with a bit of techno even being slung in between the John Tejada tracks at the end! 22 year old DJ & Producer. Sounds of house music with luring melodies and flavours of old school rave nostalgia. The Macclesfield based DJ has been homing his skills in the studio and behind decks and premiering his new EPs “Ninety One”  & “STNLY” which features 3 genres of house music. 

In late 2022, Jordan launched his events brand & label “Effulgence” which has since hosted 15 mixes, 2 single releases & one sold out event in Manchester. With 4 events planned between January and June, big things are expected for 2023. Receiving praise from Patrick Topping at Tricks latest event in Liverpool.

I have been trying to attempt the perfect transition between 2 records for over 25 years and
one day I hopefully will get there but until then,  welcome to my Boucherie where we specialise in the exclusive currency of Global Electronic Soul. 

I managed Vinyl Frontier Records in Woking, Surrey for the best part of a decade living, breathing
and generally loving repetitive beats.  I have been fortunate enough to grace the platters at lots of different clubs,  events and festivals up and down the country and Europe.  I co ran the legendary night "Shuffle" (which may come back one day).  I won the coveted "bedroom bedlam" mixtape award for Muzik magazine, residencies at the Cross, The Pool , Piranah's and 333 in London and was awarded the Percy Thrower Lifetime achievement award for services to the green plant.  I have played at Glastonbury, The Big Chill, Kimberley amongst others and more recenly a regular fixture at the Give ! festival for House of Honey.   These day's I can be found deep in stock pots working culinary magic for all kinds of people,  however you may still catch me behind the platters (that matter) as much as I can.
I love music with warmth,  sincerity and emotion however it comes and still relish the opportunity 
to share my sounds manually through the medium we know as Vinyl. As long as it's available I will 
continue to support it,  everything about it just works and I believe it helps strengthen our beloved scene.

Born and bred Londoner Tom Frankel is emerging as one of the nu breed of extra talented dance producers breaking out onto the scene. 

Over the last few years he has honed his trade by playing at legendary clubs such as The Egg, where he is a regular feature, plus many gigs at huge London clubs such as Studio 338, The Cause, Lightbox, Fabric in the UK. While also doing many seasons in Ibiza playing at Sankeys, Privilege, Viva, Zoo project, Hypercolour, and underground haven Plan Be.


Tom has played alongside industry greats such as Bushwacka!, Steve Lawler, Subb-An, Dubfire, Nina Kraviz, Julian Perez, Darius Syrossian, Bicep and Move D, but it is now that Tom himself is starting to take the limelight. 

His productions are fresh, forward thinking, and always with the dance floor in mind, creating his own unique fusion of House music where he has releases and remixes on labels such as Burnski's label Constant Sound and iO (Mulen) imprint OLDiViBES and more recently with his and Dayne Harper own imprint Council Work receiving a lot of attention, with support from Ben UFO, Call Super and Loco Dice amongst others, plus no1 chart positions on Beatport and Deejay.de for the first two releases. 

Tom has earned the admiration of his peers and rightly so, he’s a chap with a lively, transfixing personality and his sets are spirited and distinct, marrying a rich medley of current house, garage and minimal music with sounds from a bygone era. His rapid climb to success is attributable to his hard work and endearing character, which combined with his expert musical knowledge make him a serious one to watch in the future.
