Straddling the ambient-dance music continuum, energies on crittercore widely pivot track for track into various corners of DIY electronics. From a Microkorg vocoder ballad, to nascent Icelandic AI voice models fed 'Lorem Ipsum' text, to dark ambient (swag) drones forged entirely from Berlin birdcalls, crittercore spans my own obsession to be resourceful in both the physical and digital worlds available to us. As one who is online, fairly terminally, the unending digital landscape has heavily informed and affirmed this little sliver of hyper-reality I am so excited to share with you all.

Depth.Request proudly announces the debut full-length album from French electronic artist Pierre Berge-Cia — a culmination of two years of dedicated experimentation and creative exploration. 
This inaugural LP represents a significant milestone in Pierre Berge-Cia’s musical journey, showcasing his innovative approach to electronic music.

Crafted through experimental processes and delving into themes of tension, control, and movement, "If You Do, Then When?" unfolds as a visceral journey through the complexities of bodily and sensory experience. 
Each track is designed to reflect the human body in all its shapes and forms, using innovative sounds and structures to evoke physicality and movement, and aiming to resonate with listeners on a deeply corporeal level.

The album was produced using a combination of the Elektron Digitone synth, a Mackie CR1604 mixer, a Shure SM57 microphone, and a limited selection of digital plugins to maintain sonic consistency. 
Mastering was handled by Pierre’s close friend, Stefan Brown — also known as "Lesser Of". 
His expertise as a top-tier sound engineer at Abbey Road Studios helped shape the LP’s pristine and powerful sound identity. 
Additionally, the tracks were tested and refined using some of the electronic scene’s most beloved sound systems, ensuring an impactful club experience.

The album’s artwork, created by Pierre Berge-Cia himself, is a reinterpretation of one of his favorite art performances: "Rest Energy" by Marina Abramović and Ulay. 
The tension of the drawn bow and the close-up framing of the subject evoke a palpable sense of danger and emotional intensity, mirroring the physical and psychological strains within human connection. 
Pierre used his own hands as the model, infusing the artwork with a deeply personal and intimate touch that amplifies the psychic gravity and thematic cohesion of the album.

Pierre Berge-Cia’s debut LP is a multi-sensory experience that challenges listeners to feel sound in its most physical and affective form.

🌊 "Intermezzo No 1" – A Whisper of Time 
A single note emerges – the piano, like a first step on damp sand. Tentative, searching, it carries silence within, as if listening for echoes of days gone by. The clarinet rises like a breath of wind sweeping across the sea, its voice filled with longing – for what was, and what never fully fades. Then the cello enters: deep and tender, like waves arriving, breaking, and in their retreat, erasing footprints, scattering thoughts. Thus the melody becomes a mirror of memory – melancholic, fleeting, beautiful. A walk along the shore of time, where every sound is a lost moment, and every pause a quiet farewell.

On a crimson-stained night, trapped love and pain intertwine. "Crimson Lament" depicts an aesthetic Gothic world with themes of beauty and agony. The setting is a fantasy of darkness, where love that was supposed to promise eternity turns to poison and becomes a sweet prison. The protagonist holds a forbidden rose, and even though he hurts his beloved with its thorns, he chooses to fall with her. Their embrace is not salvation, but a final flower that blooms in pain. Even as they are engulfed in the flames of destruction, their smile beautifully adorns the fading light. A story of the farthest reaches of love, woven with blood, roses, and grief.

As Wolf Hagen, I compose music for the silence between the notes. Drawing from the tradition of great masters like Bach and Pachelbel, I find inspiration to weave baroque clarity with the emotional complexity of our time.
The interplay of piano and cello stands at the heart of my work – two voices that complement, challenge, and exist in harmonic tension with each other. I add orchestral elements with care, never to dominate, but to open spaces: for reflection, for stillness, for those precious moments of pause.
