Nicolás Melmann (born in Buenos Aires and now based in Barcelona) explores sound's social and poetic dimensions through transdisciplinary projects. Drawing inspiration from Erik Satie's concept of "furniture music," Melmann's compositions transform the listening experience into havens of calm and contemplation.

Música Aperta is a fusion of acoustic and electronic sounds, rich in beautiful harmonies, where carefully soft elements interplay with delicate raspiness. Made up of three parts, the music unfolds slowly, immersing the listener in time. Música Aperta resonates with echoes of Satie, the meditative minimalism of Arvo Pärt, the roughness of Phill Niblock, and the nostalgic reflections of Richard Skelton.

Another way of listening to Música Aperta is through its digital encore – an extension of the album experience that brings the concept of open music to life – "a work that remains unfinished and open to transformation." The website features a reactive audiovisual interface where images dynamically respond to the music's behavior, translating electroacoustic frequencies into real-time cinematic landscapes. The album blends instrumental and electronic textures while allowing listeners to interact with different layers through a virtual mixer, enabling them to create unique sound combinations and personal sonic experiences.

MUSIC BIOGRAPHY

Lawrence Ball is a versatile and innovative composer who has a multiple focus as a composer,improviser and audio-visual creator. He has collaborated with healers, therapists and counsellors as well as writing for dance, film, orchestra,and choir and is as much at home writing a score as creating electronic or computer music. In 2017 he completed his 6th Symphony. He collaborated with Pete Townshend and software engineer Dave Snowdon on the Method Music project, designing music software for a web server which generated over 10000 musical pieces - 'portraits' - over the internet. Pete Townshend also helped Lawrence record a double album "Method Music" now available through Amazon, and through Amazon and iTunes as a download.

His work is largely tonal (in the sense of an identifiable set of notes that are emphasised - rarely changing the key, central note). It is contemporary, in that it has much in it which is formed anew - not directly influenced or inspired from the classical music tradition. It is often associated with meditational or New Age aspects, because of the strong emphasis on its relationship with silence and presence, it makes more use of the space between notes than occurs in classical music. It is in the minimalist genre, in the sense that it borrows the idea of looping and repetition (since over 30 years) from the musical innovations of Terry Riley and LaMonte Young, and seeks deeper experiences through working with constancy, with sustained sounds and small or zero contrasts.

Since 2001 Lawrence has worked with sarod player Lisa Sangita Moskow and vocalist Manickam Yogeswaran on improvised music based on North and South Indian raga scales. He has created 6 multi-media audio-visual installations with the artist Genie Poretsky-Lee: including Anonymous Words (2007), Image Of Sound (2008) and Penumbra (2011).

He has developed techniques to deeply integrate audio and visual images with quantum physicist Michael Tusch, collaborating on this since 1993 with Dave Snowdon who created the software "Visual Harmony" to explore this arena; worked with healer/counsellor Isobel McGilvray in shaping harmonic tonescapes to aid relaxation, and has worked with choreographers/dancers (ex-Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet) Sheila Styles and (ex-Ballet Rambert) Rebecca Ham on several dance projects. Lawrence Ball has written for the pianists Yonty Solomon, Mark Swartzentruber, Tim Ravenscroft (2 suites), and Alessandra Celletti (Fractal Studies and Mist Sculptures), for The Smith (string) Quartet, the Electric Symphony Orchestra, the female vocal quartet led by Rosemary Forbes-Butler, Rosy Voices, and he wrote 6 pieces for the violist Robin Ireland (of the Lindsay Quartet) and many more for violist Neil Davis.

He composed music for the film "The Eye Of The Heart", a portrait of the life and work of the artist Cecil Collins, and features in the book on Collins and his circle by Nomi Rowe. He has recorded over 4000 piano improvisations as well as performing many live. Ball's creating in acoustic and electronic media, in composed and improvised methods is one of the broadest of any composer. He has performed in Canada, the US, Latvia, Lithuania, Italy, Switzerland, France and Germany as well as in the UK. He has accompanied the international painting group Collective Phenomena who work 'more than one to a canvas' with marathon keyboard improvisations, at John Calder's La Fonderie in Paris and The Blackie in Liverpool, as well as a Planet Tree Festival London appearance. Ball is a pioneer in music, having addressed meditative and healing presence and state-of-mind, primarily, for over 35 years. In 1996 he founded the Planet Tree Music Festival, which he also directs. Nine festivals have happened thus far. He is also a highly sought after private tutor in mathematics. He lives in London.

His works have been praised by critics and audiences alike, for they speak to the universal truths that transcend time and place.

He is a tireless advocate for the healing power of music, working with people of all ages and backgrounds, using music to bring comfort and peace to those in need.

In all his endeavours, Lawrence remains true to the Tao, not seeking fame or fortune, but rather follows the path of his heart. His music is a reflection of his innermost self, a testament to the power of the human spirit to transcend the limits of the material world.

Let us honour this great composer Lawrence Ball, for he has shown us the way to live in harmony with the Tao. Let us listen to his music with open hearts and minds, and allow it to guide us on our own journey through life.

BLENDETIK is a duo established in 2024 formed by Ivan Palatinuš (DJ profLacPa) and Davor Ivanov (Mr. Keys) in Zagreb, Croatia.  They decided to combine their knowledge of classical and modern music in order to create music with jazz, house and ambient elements. The name "BLENDETIK" reflects our blended ideas, minds and taste in music.

During his DJ career, Ivan Palatinuš ("profLacPa") performed at numerous electronic music parties in Croatia and abroad ("Love Parade"/Berlin, "Brod Ljubavi"/Adriatic Tour, "Green Town Beats festival" Zelina). Behind him are many guest appearances on radio shows ("House Tuner" - Radio Zelina) and clubs throughout Croatia and Europe ("Ambasada Gaviola"/Izola, "Paradiso"/Dobova, "Funk"/Zagreb, "Mungos"/Zagreb, "Hacienda"/Brač, "Masters"/Slavonski Brod)

He collaborated with numerous famous Croatian and foreign musicians, among whom stand out the collaboration with Dino Dvornik, Cortex Thrill and DJ Evil Eddie Richards.

Davor Ivanov ("Mr. Keys") graduated from the high school of music "GU Elly Bašić" where he played accordion. He has been a member of the Academic Accordion Orchestra "Ivan Goran Kovačić" for many years, and in addition to the accordion he also plays keyboards in the rock band "VIS Breskvice".

Addicted to the high of writing music, Einexy has been playing instruments and composing since childhood. He does not wish to conform to any kind of genre-specific craftsmanship, as the musician enjoys listening to, as well as writing, classical compositions, jazz, techno, house, and rock music, among many other genres.

Pianiste et cheffe de chant, Delphine Dussaux développe une carrière riche et transversale entre accompagnement vocal, direction musicale et production artistique. Formée au CRR de Boulogne-Billancourt auprès de Marie-Paule Siruguet et Hortense Cartier-Bresson, elle intègre ensuite le Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris dans la classe d’accompagnement vocal d’Anne Le Bozec et Emmanuel Olivier, où elle obtient un Diplôme de Formation Supérieure mention Très Bien en 2010.

Parallèlement à son activité de concertiste, elle se spécialise dans le travail scénique, aussi bien au plateau qu’en fosse. Depuis 2022, elle est cheffe de chant et cheffe de chœur pour la compagnie des Frivolités Parisiennes. Elle y collabore sur plusieurs productions, notamment Là-Haut de Maurice Yvain (mise en scène Pascal Neyron), Coups de Roulis d’André Messager (mise en scène Sol Espeche), Les Contes de Perrault de Félix Fourdrain (mise en scène Valérie Lesort), présentées au Théâtre Impérial de Compiègne, à l’Athénée-Louis Jouvet ou à l’Opéra de Reims. À la saison 2023–2024, elle dirige L’Opéra de Quat’Sous à la Comédie-Française en alternance avec l’orchestre Le Balcon.

Elle a également collaboré avec le Studio-Théâtre d’Asnières (Le Petit Tailleur, L’Opéra de Quat’Sous), avec Jean-Michel Ribes à l’Opéra national de Lorraine et au Théâtre du Rond-Point (René l’Enervé), et au Palazzetto Bru Zane dans le programme On aura tout vu ! avec Flannan Obé, Marie Gautrot et Pierre Lebon.

Pianiste et duettiste reconnue, elle se produit aux côtés d’Irina de Baghy (avec laquelle elle est finaliste du Concours international Nadia et Lili Boulanger), Sabine Revault d’Allones, Daniel Marillier, Philippe Brocard, entre autres, dans le cadre de festivals tels que le Périgord Noir, les Journées Romantiques ou Jeunes Talents. 
Parallèlement à sa carrière de musicienne classique, elle est également performeuse de Cabaret, incarnant Cosme McMoon, chez Madame Arthur, à l’Heure Exquise (Odile de Mainville), au Cabaret Victor-Victoria, dans le spectacle Madame Ose Bashung (Corrine and co).

Elle assure également la direction artistique de plusieurs projets discographiques pour les labels Hortus et Présence Compositrices, en collaboration avec Anne Le Bozec, Clarisse Dalles, Marc Mauillon, Françoise Masset, ou Célia Oneto-Bensaïd.

Depuis 2005, elle enseigne en tant que professeur accompagnateur au CRR et au Pôle Supérieur Paris-Boulogne-Billancourt.
Elle est nommée Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres en 2022.
