The Science of Sound is a storytelling journey shaped by ethereal techno with touches of progressive house. It is inspired by Steyoyoke, the Berlin label I have admired since my adult years, and by the vision of Soul Button, the creator of the ethereal techno genre. His work, along with the incredible artistry of Monarke, EarthLife, Nick Devon and many others on the label, has guided and inspired me deeply.

This set reflects my own path through music and life. It carries moments of suffering, happiness, euphoria ,breakdown and healing flowing like a story that connects sound with emotion. Each track was chosen with care to mirror feelings that words often cannot capture.

The Science of Sound is my way of showing gratitude to Steyoyoke and to the artists who continue to shape this sound from Berlin to the world. It is a tribute to the music that has inspired me and a reflection of my journey within it.

“Jäger” in German means “hunter”, so Beatjäger is actually “hunting” good beats and tracks in order to mix them and create emotions and happiness.

IIRNA is the sonic mirror of architectural dreams and emotional landscapes. Born in Mexico and trained as an architect, she transforms structural rhythm into immersive sound. Her music fuses shadowy techno textures with ethereal melodies, often blurring the boundaries between space, memory, and emotion. Each track is a ritual — a blend of geometry, feeling, and pulse, inviting the listener to get lost in hypnotic patterns and sacred noise.

One foot in dubby, stripped back, Malmö-influenced minimal house, the other in percussive, melodic, Nairobi-influenced deep house. That’s the best way to describe Raj el Rey’s music and DJ sets - with his personal journey and influences from his two hometowns shining through all the way.

Having made his debut in Nairobi's burgeoning electronic music scene in late 2010, Raj soon became known for his unrelenting groovy selections - playing everything from deep and afro house, to minimal and techno, continually refining his style while maintaining a keen appreciation for lesser-known underground sounds. 

Now based in Malmö, Raj continues to make and play music that blends elements from house, dub, disco and techno, applying his experience as a selector and appreciator of electronic music into crafting sounds that reflect his different influences and background.
