One of my first bigger sets in Melbourne as The Principal was back on 9 June 2017 at the  legendary Room 680 nightclub. I was honoured to warmup for my good friend Adaro and was really happy with the set. I re-made it a few years ago but never put it up so here it is via the March Mixups series.

These Room 680 gigs were the best times of my life and I treasure them dearly with those who were there. Hopefully this set brings back some of those memories :)

With soaring synths, rolling basslines, and a voice that trembles between defiance and surrender, this track captures the bittersweet paradox of running so far only to find yourself staring into the same old shadows.

A woman’s story unfolds in neon-lit verses: the weight of a name she can’t outrun, the city lights that whisper like ghosts, and the road that refuses to let go. Is it a prison or a dance? The answer lingers in the cracks of the melody, where melancholy meets euphoria.

After years of practice, The Principal brings a mature and diverse approach to raw and melodic hardstyle in Australia. 

Since October 2016, The Principal, better known as Sam, has supported dozens international acts at some of Australia's finest events, including B-Front, Crypsis, Darren Styles, Rebelion, Da Tweekaz, Ran-D, Adaro, Sub Zero Project, Phuture Noize, Digital Punk, Hard Driver and the late great Delete to name a few. 

He has played for established Australian brands such as Masif Saturdays, Hard Kandy, PHD, HSU Events,  No Sleep Entertainment among others as well as touring Europe in 2017 and 2018 playing in the Netherlands for Boulevard Outdoor and in France for Hardpulz.

He organised his own events under the Surge brand and now focuses on small occasional events at Top Yard Rooftop bar in Melbourne

His energetic, tough, melodic and emotional approach is unrivalled in Australia making him the no 1 choice for fans and promoters alike.

Approaching 10 years into this project, The Principal is still standing strong for quality music that takes you on a journey!
