ResearchILD’s SMARTS Executive Function and Peer Mentoring provides systematic executive function strategy instruction that helps students, and their teachers, develop metacognitive awareness and become flexible thinkers who learn HOW to learn. The SMARTS curriculum is designed to train teachers to promote critical executive function processes by teaching students strategies for goal setting, organizing, prioritizing, thinking flexibly, remembering, and self-monitoring. SMARTS empowers students by helping them develop an understanding of their strengths and weaknesses. Students learn which strategies work best for them as well as why, when and how to use strategies to complete their homework, plan long-term projects, and study for tests 
Currently, more than 500 teachers in seven countries are implementing SMARTS in a diverse range of learning environments. Experienced teachers and administrators will discuss their experiences implementing the SMARTS Online program in their schools, including successes, challenges, and their goals for the program.
