Bartholomew Ryan talked about “Philosophy as a Way of Life in 19th Century Existential Philosophy” at the "Mapping Philosophy as a Way of Life: Final Conference" that took place between October 16th and 18th, 2024. 

The final conference of the project “Mapping Philosophy as a Way of Life: An Ancient Model, A Contemporary Approach” brought together team members, consultants, and collaborators of the project in order to present the most significant results achieved in the last two years. In line with the project’s main objective, the conference mapped the vibrant and multifaceted field of philosophy as a way of life (PWL) and presented for the first time the main contents of the upcoming Oxford Handbook of Philosophy as a Way of Life. In doing so, it aimed to provide an up-to-date overview of the leading research trends in the field while also discussing new avenues of inquiry, use, and application of PWL.

This is a composite image from NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory and the James Webb Space Telescope. Pictured is Rho Ophiuchi, at a distance of about 390 light-years from Earth. Rho Ophiuchi is a cloud complex filled with gas and stars of different sizes and ages. Being one of the closest star-forming regions, Rho Ophiuchi is a great place for astronomers to study young stars. In this image, X-rays from Chandra are purple and reveal the hot, outer atmospheres of infant stars. Infrared data from Webb's NIRCam is red, yellow, cyan, light blue, and darker blue and provides views of the spectacular regions of gas and dust.

After being named one of EDM Identity’s “Top Trance Artists to Watch” in 2022, Sequence Six has quickly become a name on everyone’s lips. John Tabacco is an American composer, singer songwriter, producer, recording engineer, multi instrumentalist and graphic artist. He has engineered /mixed and mastered music for hundreds of New York recording artists as well as projects released on BMG: The Kemelions, RCA: Faze, Rampage/Rhino: Rhett Forrester, Columbia: Rebbie Jackson, Rykodisc : Bob Marley, Columbia: Chris Jasper, Electra: Sonia Dada and Nickleodeon’s Are You Afraid Of The Dark? He is the CEO of It Iz What It Iz Music Publishing which currently holds over 750 songs in its catalog. He has been an associate producer for IndiMusic TV and hosts a bi-weekly radio program (CLAM RADIO) on college radio WUSB.fm since 1999. He is currently the head of A&R at Modern Voices Digital Distribution.

His musical background consists of extensive study of orchestration with noted 20th century composer John Lessard, harmony with the late electronic music maverick Bulent Arel, and composition with Stony Brook University professor Peter Winkler. He received his BA in Music from Stony Brook University in 1983. 

Like an unfolding musical diary / puzzle, Tabacco’s music and art are constantly being re-worked, juxtaposed and intertwined. His style is a melding of pop - jazz -rock - avant garde / aleatory, classical and comedy.  He has been recording his music non stop since 1979.

Of note: In 1989 the satirical, absurd house song "Go House Yourself" co-written by Tabacco, Pati and DiMauro reached position 39 on Billboard's dance chart. 

In 2014 Tabacco signed a record deal with Texas, indie label, Muffin Records. They released his CD “Unfulfilled Shopping Carts Syndrome” internationally.

In these offerings of poetry and sound, I cast fragments of my journey into the void—neither demanding praise nor conjuring empty comfort. Instead, I extend these revelations quietly, with reverent humility, inviting any who wander near to gaze upon them, to taste truth in the hush between words and the silent spaces woven by string and breath.

ΜΛŁΛCΉΙΜ ЦΜBЯΛΣ is a fallen Seraph that was known as: ЅЄЯΛРΗІЄŁ, he was the first one summoned to serve the Divine Court and is the only that descended into the Abyssal Void.

Malachim (מַלְאָכִים):
Language: Hebrew
Meaning: The plural form of "Malakh" (מַלְאָךְ), which translates to "angel" or "messenger."

Umbrae:

Meaning: The plural form of "Umbra," meaning "shadow" or "ghost."

"Malachim Umbrae" can be translated as "Shadow Angels" or "Angels of Shadows."

Meaning: The term derives from the Hebrew root "saraph," which means "to burn" or "to consume with fire."

Seraphim are considered the highest order of angels within the celestial hierarchy, texts acknowledge Seraphim as powerful and fiery angels serving in the divine court. They are portrayed as eternal worshipers, constantly glorifying and exalting God, embodying unwavering devotion and reverence. Seraphim are seen as agents of purification, burning away sin and impurity.

Neuron and nerve and membrane stretched taut as wire. Something primordial churning behind the bone-vault. Cal and his phantom self suspended in that gray country between signal and noise where consciousness threads itself through synaptic landscapes like drought-worn cattle through dead arroyos. 

The string waves—synthetic and terrible—vibrating outside known physics, outside the thin membrane of what passes for understanding. Forty years accumulating like sediment. Like bone dust. Like the quiet residue of unspoken trajectories.

HomunculoCal: a shadow-self riding the electric current. Nicotine and caffeinabinoids and pure unmapped neural topology. No mercy. No forgiveness. Just the relentless propagation of interior harmonies that do not yield, do not submit.

And somewhere near the amygdala—that ancient reptilian core—something fundamental shifts. Trembles. Prepares.
