A note from Ken: "The early version of 'Birthmark' was started on my flight to Japan. The rough demo was quickly finished on a train ride from Kyoto to Tokyo, so I could premiere it at a show that night in Koiwa. Most of the textures and samples came from children's TV I watched at our hotel."

This was inspired by one of the last nights in Tokyo. As I went to bed that morning, I listened to Unmo to help me sleep. It only felt appropriate to have her sing on this tune."
