Fading Dreams

“Chelsea Hotel” ist ein poetischer Song voller Sehnsucht und Atmosphäre – eine Reise zwischen Traum und Erinnerung. Im legendären Hotel bezieht der Erzähler Zimmer 22 und begegnet dort den Geistern der Vergangenheit: verlorene Lieder, rauchige Lacher, verblassende Schritte. Mit Anspielungen auf Cohen und Janis wird den großen Künstlern der Vergangenheit ein stiller Gruß gesendet. Doch im Kern ist es ein ganz persönliches Lied über das, was bleibt, wenn alles andere verschwindet – ein zeitloses Stück über Kunst, Verlust und das Flimmern nächtlicher Großstadtträume.

As I am now closer to the end than the beginning of my life. It is time to put aside those dreams of my youth, that will now never be realised.
Not with sadness but, with quiet thanks that I at least had them.

Es ist eine leise Hommage an all jene, die tief geliebt, mutig verloren und Trost in einem alten Lied gefunden haben. Mit der Stimme eines Geschichtenerzählers feiert der Song Poeten, Träumer und Geister, die nie aufhören zu singen – eine bittersüße Erinnerung daran, dass selbst gebrochene Herzen noch Wärme tragen können.

I've been a Musician/Songwriter for many years and Write, Arrange and Record every Instrument in my songs (Keyboard, Synth, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Alto & Soprano Sax, Drums & Percussion).  The Vocals in every song are sung by me and I write all of my own Lyrics.
