Suddenly, the figure ceases its hostility. Drawing its weapon, It must have sensed something nearby, as it looks over its shoulder briefly, before setting its gaze back into myself. Its head angles down, looking at the floor, stepping to its side slightly. It returns to me a final glance, and kneels down before the abyss of ruins. Abruptly, it jumps into the void with unparalleled confidence.

I perceive another figure, approaching from afar, his head leveled down. A tall wood, loud enough to clack against the floor, harmonizes his posture, one that might as well be an old branch. His steps settle with pressure. A glimpse of an eye peeks out, looking at the scene. The rest of his head is buried in outgrowth.

* What is going on here?

He asks, as he examines me from afar. Once near enough, he concludes his steps, staring deeply into myself. He sighs, marked by a kind of fatigue, closing his eye thoroughly.

* Ah...

His voice is deep, a bit raspy, worn-out. The worn ring re-emerges, and looks to his side briefly, before fixing his attention to me. It's enough to set upon me with a silent authority.

* So.
* You are a human, aren't you.
* Right.
* Put that... Goddamn thing down.
* I do not want to see it.

... I hesitate. However, a danger creeps upon my neck, which, reluctantly, compells me to lighten my muscles. Nevertheless, I must attempt to stand my ground.

* That's better, that's better.
* ...

* My name is ASGORE.
* People like you, however, may refer to me with all due respect.
* I've been resident of THE HALLOWS for sometime now.
* And In my utter devoir, I must avoid of your life being endangered.
* Nothing special.

* And...
* I must trust that your species have not turned us into spectres already, yes?

I nod.

* ... And I assumed right, for I can see that callous strain in your face.

His head moves in repugnancy, squinting his eyes.

* My providence would be absented instantly...
* But I find myself necessarily urged to the consonance of your being.
* Albeit, unenthused.
* I am not willing to perform any amiability with you.

* ... Follow me, alright.
* I'll explain things to you in the way.

You slowly come to consciousness within a spacious, echoing cavern.
Strange black shapes and forms vaguely resembling that of man and beast drift around you.
An inky black river stretches out over the erratic, crumbling landscape.
You feel something tugging at your heartstrings.
It seems you must proceed.

Oh dear, I am so sorry I could not get to you in time!
Please hold still! I will be healing you as best as I can!
It is healing magic, so I apologize if this hurts. 

I hope you are feeling better now. 
Excuse me, I forgot to introduce myself.
I am TORIEL, GUARDIAN of the RUINS.
I notice you are not feeling well, despite the healing.
If you can speak, I could kindly appreciate it. 
However, do not worry. I will be rushing back to my home.
Please take this cell phone and STAY HERE. DO NOT MOVE.
Okay?

(Toriel holds the phone in the air for you to take.)
(She drops it and it falls to the floor.)

* But it seemed they knew their time had come.
* In anger and desperation, I took a shovel I'd used for gardening, and we fought.
* It was short and one-sided.
* Nothing I did could heal their wounds after the battle.
* Eventually, I took their soul to the capital.
* I offered it to the queen, but on one condition.
* "This hand," I told her. "It is sinful. It has killed."
* "Removing it will not relinquish me of what I'd done, but I deserve punishment."
* "I beg of you. Cut it off."
* She refused.
* I pleaded, groveled, and only when I threatened to do it myself...
* She complied.

* If you leave this place, monsters will be much less remorseful than I.
* You will be killed without pity or fanfare.
* They will not have the same guilt as me.
* Consider what I am about to do as an act of charity.
* Prepare however you must, but know that only one of us will leave this place.
