Helping me Draw The Line this week it’s Aimee from Leeds in the UK. She’s been involved in the nightlife scene since the age of 17 where she danced, performed and promoted many club events. Her passion for dance music led to her learning to mix in 2020. She loves to blend her favourite tracks together in different ways and making people happy doing so is a feeling of which she'll never get bored. She’s been learning production for the past year and will continue to work hard so she can share with the world the weird and wonderful ideas in her head.

Helping me Draw The Line this week it’s Caroline Valença aka Amethysta a DJ, Producer and multi-artist from Brasília. Her Amethysta project is based on Techno, mixing elements of Driving, Peak Time, Acid, Hard and Psy Techno. Her mixes highlight the dichotomy between Techno and Trance, the visceral and the spiritual, resulting in the yin and yang present in her work. Amethysta is a fusion of two worlds, rave and club culture. From the underground, participating in parties like Trema Techno and Twisted, to Indie Dance events as a special guest at Memento and Mond Connector Records she creates a unique soundscape. With the EP Dark Feminine and the follow up, Grimoire, released earlier this year, she was the first woman to sign tracks to  the Decreto Techno label.

After a year of success, she moved to Berlin to immerse herself in techno and electronic music and she fell in love with acid and trancey sounds which inspired her to establish the Acid Reflux Collective. In her sets she blends the raw intensity of underground clubs with the liberating spirit of outdoor raves.

Helping me Draw The Line this week it’s O.P.Groover, a London based DJ & VFX artist. She’s DJ’d at various events all over London & Sheffield and been a regular at Glastonbury Festival Cornish Arms & Broke Britain bars the last few years. Earlier this year she made her international debut at Bass Boomtown in Tallinn.  Her first track, a collaboration with breaks & dubstep producer agentCopy, called "SubGoesBoom" was released on One7Audio records at the end of July. Her first love is breakbeat but she does likes to mix up genres and her sets are always a journey through all manner of bassy tech house, sassy breakbeats and dirty techno. More recently she has been exploring a more introspective style, away from brash beats, and the mix she’s done for us reflects that.

Helping me Draw The Line this week it’s FSJ who are from Phnom Penh in Cambodia. The set is called "On Beauty." It’s a live set created specifically for the Draw the Line. Deeply moved by the show’s support for female musicians, their live set draws inspiration from Kahlil Gibran's poetry collection "The Prophet," using the chapter ‘On Beauty’ as a vocal sample to convey the message that everyone is whole and perfect. The project features a total of 10 original tracks, collaboratively produced by Fin, San, and Joe (collectively known as FSJ).and it’s dedicated to all women.

Her entry in the recent Drumcode Mha Iri remix contest was runner up and her tracks have been played by artists like Kevin de Vries, Juliet Fox, Teenage Mutants and many others. Her DJ sets are a combination of old school sounds and modern elements creating dynamic driving techno sets. Beki Powell and Katie Ox shred the epic Zenski party as their duo Birds in Paradise at Mode Miami

Brought together by their mutual love for music and birds, this eccentric duo has been performing together at clubs and festivals since 2019.

They met at the legendary Electric Pickle, where Beki was a resident DJ and Katie was a frequenter of the dance floor (at this time Katie only Dj’d for her teddy bears). They became instant best friends, and Beki soon took on the role of  “DJ Fairy Godmother”, encouraging Katie to get out of her shell and play in public after years of practicing at home.

Needless to say, it went well, and Beki invited Katie to join the all-women DJ collective she was a part of called The Fates. After the collective dissolved, Katie and Beki continued to work together. This feathery duo is now known for activating dancefloors all over Miami with their funky music & loyal flock.

Inspired by their mutual love of birds, Katie and Beki launched their radio show Birds in Paradise last spring, which airs every first Thursday of the month on Jolt Radio.

Samandollar is a Sudanese visual and auditory artist interested in celebrating the sounds of African and Arab dance cultures. From Arab Pop to Coupe-decale and Afro House, her ambition as an artist is to leave no metaphorical stone of African music unturned on the decks. Interweaving percussion and melodies from the Sahel to the tropics and back, Samandal wants to remind us that art happens in the unruly play of our imaginations.
